If the two of you are so concerned, take the dog anyways. As the owner, you take it to the vet when it's sick. If your dad says no because of money, then raise your own money and take the dog. It's not kind to let it be sick and not take it to the vet.

Kennel Cough?

My old dog got Kennel Cough often. Our vet told us sometimes it can be tricky to get rid of especially if there socialized dogs who come in contact with the virus. A dog can carry the bacteria and not even know it. They can get some versions from just sniffing a place where an other dog has left his scent. It's very hard for a vet to give medication for this apparently from my experience they can give one antibiotic if it doesn't work on that particular strain they move onto the next. I think it depends mostly on a dogs immune system as well kinda like a cold or flu for us.

Totally 100% agree. Your mom is an adult and needs to take care of the dog.

Glad your mom put her foot down and got your dog some help. It could have benn something simple, but could easily have been life threatening. Hopefully he'll get better soon.

hope the old gent will be okay, and very glad your mom was able to convince your dad to drive him to the vet. (Also hope your dad recognizes that a pet is a forever commitment, just like any loved one should be! :) )
