Coping skills taking a vacation day.

That reads far worse than I actually meant it too but you know my brain isn't working right these days. I tried to cook my own dinner yesterday and what I did to the oven is shameful.

@tulagirl I almost poison my whole homeiec group when we had to cook after that I was not allowed to do much. This is why Ology is not allowed to cook ever.

I'm not big on cooking. Baking, however, is awesome. I love baking. (From scratch, I don't believe boxed stir and cook, frozen, refrigerated, or pre-made cookie dough counts as baking.) Brownies, peanut butter cookies, classic chocolate chip, snickerdoodles, molasses sugar, butter cookies, pies, tarts, Apple strusel, oh, shortbread, the ever fun spritz cookies.... I think I'm going to head to the kitchen now. Btw, I can roast veggies successfully, too.

I can't really cook or bake like I use to. In fact I can't even stir anymore. I need to get one of those fancy mixers I guess.

Be careful to get a lightweight one or a counter top. The handheld ones with any powerful are so heavy. Someday I'll have a counter top one. They aren't a pain to clean either like the old food processors.

Yea I want one of those that sits on the counter and you just turn it on and it does all the work. I can't hold a hand mixer.

A good stainless steel ooster brand you can get with plenty of attachments for not too ridiculous a price. I just love them being dishwasher safe and that the mixing alarm rises so easily. I used my mom's old food processor for a while before my carpal tunnel surgery and it was just such a pain to clean and store. It was hardly worth the work of getting it set up. Poor old thing. She also has an ancient cookie press for spritz cookie dough that I wish I could find one like. That thing is older than me and still works for making delicious cookies.

Wow sounds great. My only problem is in my 1930's kitchen...well....it is super tiny, super old and I don't even have the storage space or counter space or plug space to use one of these. That is why I have not bought one yet. My kitchen needs a serious make over and the cost to do it is more than I will have for a long time.

Kitchens were so cute, but so not user friendly back then. Mine was built in the early '50's, but luckily the previous owner remodeled it. It's still rough, but spacious, so spacious. It has very little wall space and I'm someday going to paint it a sunny yellow.

Sunny yellow will make you super happy. I'm in the process of painting my living room sunshine yellow with a beautiful sapphire blue for the trim and wainscoting. The hall is mango orange with purple trim with sky blue shelving and an acid green shelf at the end. I won't stop till my house is as colorful as a pony herd.

I have a yellow bedroom. I love color. I can't deal with the modern plain black and white or just gray. It makes me feel super depressed. I like sunshine and color, reds, oranges, turquoise, yellow, purples, blues, greens...whooo hooooo.

My counters are old school pre-Formica blue and the backsplash goes all the way to the cabinets. I have a valance with blue birds and yellow flowers. The ceiling needs to be white to keep it bright. There's a grapevine that shades the window and the rest of the year it's overcast.

My bedroom.... purple, purple, purple, and sage green with a yellow accent in the comforter and pillows.

I always hate the new 'design' shows on television. Everything is neutral or barfy biege and black and white. It looks so uninviting and cold.

Oh, I love purples too! Our big bathroom is purple and the bedroom is sky blue. The dining room is a maroon (not my choice, but I lefta let Poopsie chose something too, lol). I can't wait to start on the hall bathroom, I'm going to paint it a rainbow of colours, and use talavera tiles on the floor. I bought the tiles a few at a time every time I went to San Antonio and now I finally have enough to do the floor! :D

Well some one has to love yellow not me but some one. If I could paint my room dark purple with my MLP curtain which are purple black out curtain. with purple sheers on the rare cloud/rainy days I care to open my window. I am not Gloomy I just like less bright stuff then most people. I do love 2 yellow things Emily my baby hen and Goldie my mom hen that I helped raise after her mommy died.

That sounds beautiful foofoo. Would it be rude to ask for pictures when your done please?

I like colorful houses too. White is so...dull.

Here's a funny fact. I have an associate's degree in interior design. I never did the required apprenticeship to complete it, though. I adore decor. Lol, that rhymes. :p

Here it is before we moved the furniture back. The underflooring was damaged, so Hank and I had to rip out the old floor and replace it. Afterwards we put in nice new bamboo loc-it flooring. I love the dark wood because it's very pretty but it shows every hair my cats shed. And they shed SO MUCH.

It looks weird and wet in a few places of the blue because I had to go touch it up right before I took the pic. I'm going to be replacing the dark entertainment center with a light colored one that I intend to build later. Right now I'm building a deck, so it'll wait.

What a bummer you didn't get to do the apprenticeship! Any chances you'll ever get to do it or is that sort of thing time sensitive? And I'm nosy, what sort of style do you think best reflects your personality? I had a friend tell me that I was a Boho Chic sort of person, but I think I'm more of a Dumpster Diving Delight. :D
