Anyone remember Aikrin’s custom, Shadow Watcher? I coveted her for years and recently decided to try my own gargoyle experiment.

A baity Bubbles is getting a stone spray paint treatment just because I was curious if it’d work. Only on three coats, so we’ll see how she comes along.

And at Michael’s yesterday I found a unicorn skeleton in the Halloween decor. She’s getting a matte purple treatment and might end up with a melted-in metal cutie mark or something.

After 3 weeks of many many many thin coats and a lot of drying time, I think she’s as good as she’s gonna get. Now to consider hair options and do some grayscale eyes.

And I haven’t done much more with the skeleton girl yet. Thought about white washing her grooves for contrast but haven’t gotten there yet. She’s just “hanging out” with my other ponies for now. :rofl:

I’ve been intimidated about attempting eyes because I know how much they can make or break the look so this is as far as I’ve gotten.

I have white (glow in the dark) hair for rehairing but I’m thinking I need to get some black and gray. Anyone have a small amount to trade?
 
Wow, love it!! Such a cool concept! The eyes look great already, the eyelashes are so well done. I'm sure you'll do a great job finishing them up! :redheart: Can't wait to see more of this pony!! Does she have a name? Or waiting until she's finished? :redheart::redheart:
 
Random thought: if you use any glow in the dark hair, have you thought about glow in the dark eyes?

And what about user a softer lead pencil to lightly sketch the eyes on to make them easier to paint in? A 2B or 4B lead should show well.

I did think about GITD eyes. I think I have some paint, I’ll have to check.

And yeah, sketching on the eyes was my plan but getting the circles perfectly circular intimidates me. Aikarin has an eye tutorial and they used a piece of tissue paper to transfer pencil markings for accuracy. I think I’ll try that if I can find some white tissue paper.

ooooh looks really promising. glow in the dark hair would be so fun! it would be cool too to sculpt hair onto the pony first and then spray paint so it all looks like stone... i look forward to how it comes out though :3
 
What a cool idea for a custom pony! She's looking great so far, can't wait to see the results:lolpony:

I love this so much! Can't wait to see her finished!

I've also been customizing a Bubbles! :D Must be the spoopy season pony to customize?! XD
