Hi! Come join! Hee hee hee. I have an updated picture of my new scar. It has no feeling since the nerves haven't had enough time to grow back yet. I accidentally got my fingernail stuck in it. Good thing they used lots of glue! Tee hee I'm held together by glue!

I wish I had a better camera the troop is folded over and sticks out about an eighth of an inch over the lower edge. Ew... I just realized there's a dog hair on it, too. o_O

Bahaha!!! Dog hairs is just a sign of living a loved life.

Also, the healing looks pretty good from your picture considering it’s only been a few weeks since your procedure!

Thanks. :) it's doing quite well. It won't even be a bad scar. It's starting to itch which definitely says it's healing. I had a good laugh when my fingernail got stuck. I have long nails and since my nerves in my neck aren't grown back I can't really feel it. I tried to pull my hand away and my nail tugged! Thank goodness my Evelyn came right away and guided my nail out. I guess I need to trim them.

That scar is not looking bad at all. Also, I kinda like scars. Some scars. They are the road map of your life and they tell a story.

What would we be without our critters' hair holding us together? It's the Thread of Life!

I'm so glad you're healing up so well. Soon... so much more mobility!

Ok, so this was a little worrisome. I had the most irritating little piece of what I thought was skin hanging off my neck... I tried to gently pull it off. It wasn't skin. It kept on coming. It wasn't glue. Apparently, those dissolving stitches that no doctor believes me when I say that they won't dissolve in me, (or my daughter) are inside of the glued area. I got scissors and carefully trimmed it. Why don't the doctor's and dentists in this world believe me?! Also, really hoping I didn't pull loose anything important.

Tak, please don't come unraveled! I've had some dissolving stitches that didn't fully dissolve either, one on a biopsy that I swear still has a little bit in it in the scar and some that just got "pushed out" as I healed, so I believe you!!

Ok, me being me, I fell today. Luckily it was on my well padded tush and on carpet. I also managed to grab the towel hanging on the door handle so I didn't fall backwards. It could have been so much worse. It still really jarred my neck, though, so I've been a bed slug all day.

On a completely different topic. My Evelyn is on the spectrum. She's on adhd meds now and they are definitely helping. We may need to tweak the dose, but that is just going to come with time. So. She's extremely sensitive to textures, seams, fabrics, fit, and flexibility of all clothing. She has a pair of bear paw shoes, that are similar to sketchers go walk, that we put some arch support insoles in. She has to wear socks with them because, well, it's winter, and I want her feet kept warm and dry. She also has a pair of sketchers go walk shoes that she says are too tight with socks and a pair of awesome bear paw boots that she says the furry lining points the wrong way in. She will only wear the first pair I mentioned and is constantly complaining about not having shoes. She also has now ripped the elastic inset on one shoe because she picked at it. (It once got to the point of her screaming and cursing at me before she started the meds) She's usually so sweet and tries her best, this shoe thing is just ridiculous. With everything I had to pay for my surgery and associated supplies, we're really broke and she knows it. She even thought that folders would be too expensive and wouldn't ask for any. I told her that if she needed it, especially for school, then I'd find a way to get it and that folders really aren't too expensive. She's going through puberty, adjusting to meds, worried about my healing, stressed at school, and having a hard time making friends. I'm just not sure what to do to help her.

As a kid who grew up in a single parent household, know that my mom did everything she could do wasn’t exactly easy. But, looking back, i am so greatful for the thing she did for me.

I think the best thing is to do is continue to support and reassure her. Puberty is tough on everyone, and knowing that your “different” from your peers is harder but just keep reminding her how special and loved she really is.

She is a super talented young lady and she’s got her pony pals here to back her up and kick butt and take names if need be.

Good luck on healing and recuperating and whatnot!

I hope you get your feeling back soon. I've got a scar on my finger that I still don't have feeling on, and it's been over two years since it happened. I didn't go to the doctor afterward, though, because I am too pig-headed and stubborn.

I have one on my arm like that. I should have gotten stitches. No feeling at all where the scar is.
    1544153777202-1050503044.jpg
    It's almost 3" long and 3/4" wide

I accidentally got myself on the forearm while at work, but we were so busy that I just put a band-aid on it, covered it with a towel, and taped it down. o_O It was still bleeding 7 hours later.

My best scar is the one I have from hip to hip when I had a partial hysterectomy a few years ago. But I also have one on my big toe from surgery when I broke it by stubbing it on a coffee table... then I have a plethora of various animal scratch (and one bite) from working with animals for 15 years.

Wow @Lady Arachnia ! Only two years old!

I had one down the side on my face, but it faded.

@Skybreeze I have a ton of scars from various animals. I definitely understand you there.
