Did anyone buy fidget spinners?

I think a lot of med had Alcohol or Drugs in then back them so I am not supersized. Heck my great grandmother had something she used that had ******* in it before it was found to be bad. I know Coca Cola had that in it too way back when.

They used what they had. I heard opium was common in painkillers. Alcohol has been around for a looong time. The used it to sterilize and disinfect, too.

Yea I know I have just never heard of tar. They gave Opium to babies back in the day so they would not fuss and sleep. Imagine!

During Prohibition while Alcohol was band. It was still put in Medicine. Not as high a volume mind you but still people who wanted a drink would buy Meds and drink them. Alcohol was not regulated in medicine only what you could buy in stores, make etc.

They did use what they had its amazing what was in meds then and now. Coca Cola still uses coca leaves but the bad stuff is taken out now. Funny that is one reason why Coke was so Addictive back in the day.

Found this list if you want to see what other lovely thing people took

My grandparents would rub whiskey on the babies gums for teething pain.

My dads mom did that but my mom mother lived more in the city and they did not uses those kinda things. They were more supermarket stuff. My dads family were farmers and such.

Yea I have seen a show on tv about all this stuff. It is amazing to say the least. I feel sorry for people in a way. The withdrawal syndrome must have been awful and no one knew what was wrong with them.

Still the bottles and Tins themselves are quite pretty on some of the old meds.

Thanks to @tulagirl I cant stop playing with my spinner LOL.

Yay have fun. Yuki tries to take them away from me when I play with ours. He just isn't quite sure how he feels about taking it when it is spinning. He will bark at it until it slows down and then grab it and run. He is so crazy. lol I don't want him to play with it due to the magnets coming out. I don't know how easy that happens with mine so, no no doggie and spinners!!

I think they are the dumbest thing ever but I have a coworker who says they help her with stress and concentration.

Yea that is exactly how I felt about that stupid Tickle Me Elmo toy. Honestly, he really irritates me. I guess we all can't like the same things. I think the fidget spinner is innocent fun and great for fine motor skills actually. It has a purpose and I do feel it can be used for many things therapeutically. It isn't for everyone though just like some people don't like the BBE ponies and some people embrace them with love LOL.

I can say it has help me wind down at night so to speak. I don't know why but it has help me claim down from being sad about my dog. The only thing that is strange is I will be walking around the house spinning it and I will think when Did I pick this up to play with it.

@tulagirl and @ActionHank

Now the old timey glass bottles sound like something worth getting.

As for fidget spinners, they don't really interest us.

I'm not sure what the tar is for but, after looking at the label I also noticed that it also contains 2% pure grain alcohol. If any one wants I could type out what is on the label.

Yes please!

Yea the bottles are really cool. I see them in the antique stores and always want them. Like I have room for any. I have no room for what I have much less those. Doesn't matter the fidgets will go out as quickly as they came. Personally, I remember a time with a string with a knot in it provided hours of fun for us on the playground when we were kids. I still remember a few string tricks.
