Did we ever figure out a solution to this problem?

It wasn't let me post this in the cleaning forum so here we go. Did anybody figure out how to remove highlighter stains? I think it's highlighter at least, I guess I can't tell the difference between regrind and highlighter marks half the time. That actually brings me to another question, can regrind/highlighter spread? I assume highlighter is just marker staining but I don't know for sure. I just bought a Sunbeam that's gorgeous besides her highlighter staining. I'll return her if I can't fix her. If anyone has any insight I'd love to hear it! If the picture is bad I can take a better one.

You can try magic eraser, nail polish remover. From what I can tell with this picture it doesn’t look all that bad. Worst case you can try sun fading them out. It takes a long time but will lighten it.

But I honestly wouldn’t get rid of her for those teeny spots. Keep her until you find one to upgrade and then resell her. Lots of newer collector won’t mind it. ;)

I love her, except I feel the seller hid those marks, and unfortunately, it's on her face too. I just want to fade it, so it's not so noticeable. It makes me upset because she has the best cutie mark I've ever seen for her, plus all her original accessories. I guess trading is always an option at some point too. Thanks for the help! <3

I'm going to guess fungus. You might have some luck with sunfading? Far Dreamer has a very informative site you might find helpful :)

The dots seem too random for a highlighter wielding child. What kid has the kind of restraint to just put 2 little dots? That's what makes me think it's fungus related which means it may possibly develop more at some point but if you clean in/out that will hopefully stop more from appearing and then try to sunfade what's there would be my plan.

Nevermind I looked it up, and it could be that. It just looks like someone poked it with a marker, which seems like something a toddler would do. It's actually all over her, I just took one pic. I'm giving her a peroxide soak, then a sunfade. As much as I don't want to I might have to return her. It upsets me that the seller didn't bother taking any pics of it. can the fungus spread pony to pony? As of right now she's seperate from the rest of my herd

I've heard mixed thoughts on spreading. I don't think it's ever happened with any of mine but I usually clean them before homing them on the shelf.
