Dusky - the birth of a persona

Well, I've had numerous people saying what a pretty persona Dusky is, and after weeks of searching I found her base pony (big big big thankies to Aikarin ^_^) Winterberry! Periwinkle had the wrong colour jewel, and January Joy was the wrong pose for Dusky as I didn't like those big smoochy lips!
*gets bitten by wondermint*
OUCH!

aaaanyway, I decided that the hour had come to start on her shading, so I nervously picked up a paintbrush and this is her:

I finally got the pictures in daylight, using a spot lamp really bites.


I used citadel acrylics, I'm glad I did because they mix easily. The soft orange/reds on her were achieved by mixing light pink with everything! Her eyelashes were also repainted with

aww! she is so cute!! I love the way you made her shading ^^

I thought it was more pink than red/brown but maybe it's just the pics that make her look that way. she is cool either ways ^^

malancaiwen - Dusky was originally really bright, but my picture scanned onto my PC lighter and softer, so everyone who's drawn her since has made her a pinky yellow/orange ^_^ She's really vibrant like the dusk I can see from my house.

EDIT: forgot to mention, I finished the purple shading and her sun symbols, all she needs now is her hair ^_^ I'll get better pictures tomorrow as I'm relying on my spotlight for a light source (hence the dark pics).
 
Cant wait to see her finished. The color is so pretty so far :D
 
okay she's finished x_X it's 1:20am so I'm gonna go sleep... I'll get decent pictures tomorrow, promise!

The picture and the RL thing are both VERY pretty!! You did a REALLY GREAT job on the custom!!
 
She looks great so far! She's going to look incredible when you're done- that coloring must've taken you quite some time!
 
:D actually her shading didn't take that long, maybe an hour tops for the orange?

i told you the warhammer citidel paints would work well didnt i dusky!

thank vin ^_^ she's a lot brighter than most people expected her to be, even me! But I like her like this :)
