Fought a snake and lost

Okay, total lie. I was watering the dogs in the dark and got bit by a copperhead Wednesday. No awesome battle, fabulous struggle or heroics involved. He bit me for no reason and ran off like an assassin. Unlike my first bite years ago, this time the snake actually injected venom. I'll be honest with you people, this is the most painful ordeal I've ever been through.

While antivenom was unnecessary (gratefully, the price is over 50,000 an IV bag of CroFab), I had hours in the ER to monitor the bite then days of excruciating pain as the venom is working its way through my system. I'd take labour pains to this any day. I'm pretty exhausted with it.

So I apologize I'm not here, but a few more days I'll crawl home. Miss you all! Be good, but not good good it's boring!

Aww, foofoo that sucks! I've never been attacked by an assassin snake but it doesn't sound like fun. Hope the pain subsides soon and your back to your self soon. Mean ol' snake!
 
The swelling is down (it actually felt like my skin would split!) and hopefully the pain will be over soon. It's already far better than it was Wednesday and I can walk without assistance now. I think I may well live!

Then all snakes betta WATCH OUT!

I could have driven you to the hospital but you wouldn't let me, because I did not know where hospital was and because I had anger because of snake. I went to the since of the crime the next day with a machete to kill the snake but it was gone.

That's what duct tape is for. It silences protests and works better then makeshift rope. :winkpony:

I will give my son this, if anyone messes with me, he becomes a huge, protective bear. I'm lucky to have him. That snake is lucky it ran for the hills.

If we could have gone to the local hospital, he could have done that easily. It's about 25 minutes away. But they don't carry antivenom so we had to go to the one almost an hour away and neither one of us were 100% how to get there quickly and safely, so my friend Linda drove us.

Funny, I had to drive her to the ER when she broke her arm, she had to drive me with this. We are ER WARRIORS!
 
I was going to get to the one in Sherman because ours is useless for this sort of thing.

That sounds illegal, you should get a lawyer.
 
At least you made it back alive I never been bitten by a snake but my mom has been bitten by a spider. Not sure which kind though her finger swelled up she made through the whole thing ok.
I however got bit by something once I never know what because I had this dark bruise on my leg. I think it was bout 3-4 summer's back and the bite didn't go away for a few months later. :/ I went to a Dinosaur Park once and they had a lot mosquitoes and other bugs there so it could of been anything that bit me.
 
Oh my gosh runs around screaming. Those bites are so deadly and, I have heard the pain is something from the pits of Hades. Doesn't it take like a week to stop hurting? Most people have to take pain medication its so bad. I really feel for you. You are quite lucky to be with us since you had to drive so far to a good hospital and lucky to not lose whatever the snake bit too. Those copperhead bites usually cause major tissue damage that can require surgery. I am so glad you are not going through that. Faints

I got bit by a copperhead awhile back and I don't remember it hurting that bad, probably because I am strong like Russian bear.

Yea that is probably it. If it bit me I would be dead in the first 10 minutes of the ordeal and you would have heard my screams all the way to Alaska before hand. baaaaaaa
