or that something big and evil will come and take the shatterd parts and reanimate them :D that's actually a fic idea i have to cross over FIM with my Nevawhen stuff ^^; go evil chaos pony godd! well as long as it's not all "oh lets avoid confrontation and make lots of cakes and be all sparkly all the time" it should be fine. interpersonal drama is exciting and dramatcal too. plus, with twi here never having had "friends" before, she's learning how to be a friend here too. it's personal growth stuff. but yeah, baddies are fun too. here's hoping we have 2 or 3 personal drama episodes, then some outside dangerous thing swoops in for an episode or two to counter balance it ^^

I love the new series! I almost started to cry, too, Twilight Sparkle!
 
I do hope they'll bring back Nightmare Moon. She made the show more interesting to me (and as of today has become my favorite character on the show).
 
I checked out Lauren Faust's Deviantart page, and here's what she said about the rest of the first season!

'Networks do not tend to like serialized stories because they do not get good ratings in repeats. So an over-arching plot, unfortunately, was out of the question.

There are certain aspects of the world that we had to unfold so people would understand how it works differently than our own, so the first several episodes will help illustrate that. However, all the rest of season 1 will feature self contained episodes. Each story focuses primarily on the relationships between the characters in an ensemble-cast-comedy sort of way, but the fantasy and magical elements of the world are always apparent. Also, there will be more baddies, and even monsters. I hope viewers will not be disappointed.'

I find that really hard to accept. Shows for slightly older sets - like Teen Titans, when I was a kid - were really engaging because at least some of the story tended to carry over to the next episode. And if we're talking about younger audiences, Winx Club was immensely popular, and that had some pretty complex running plots in each season. Cartoon Network successfully reran it all the time, too.

But hey, it's not Lauren Faust's fault - just narrow-mindedness on the part of the network. And I'm sure the new show will still be really enjoyable. I know I'm in the minority on this, but I really liked My Little Pony Tales when I was young, so a smarter version of it is fine by me.
 
Hello. I think I should re-introduce myself. Man. I haven't been here in. . . how many years? I'm not really much of a collector anymore, but I'm loving the new show. I loved Parts One and Two, especially the second episode. It was almost an emotional experience because it was so good.

I think a slice of life format fits a comedic style better, but I think it's also good that we'll be getting some bad guys here and there. It sounds like the third episode will have some internal conflict, and I think it'll be a good episode. Twilight must choose which friend will accompany her to the Gala, and it sounds like most of her friends will try to butter her up to earn the ticket.

I don't think we need the worry. It doesn't look like the writing will suffer in the least when the villains go. The slice of life format worked very well for Strawberry Shortcake.

Those squashed, blurry credits are really wearing on me. Somebody already figured out the singing voice actor for Pinkie Pie, but I saw voice actor credits for Apple Bloom, and singing voice actor credits for both Twilight AND Rarity. Anybody have any clue?
 
okay seriously?! how stinking cute is princess luna or whatever her name is?? so stinking cute.. I think I may need her most of all.
