Ok, so I'm a BIG porcelain fan, and I just got my first European porcelains in today.

Does anyone know very much about them? I can see that Applejack is slightly different from USA Applejack....see below (US on left, Europe on right)

As you can see, it's a lot less detailed. It looks like someone took a poor cast of the first mold. It's also much more colorful.

Does anyone know what company put them out? They don't have a company name on the bottom, just the rainbow logo and 1986 (1 year later than the US versions).

Do you think Hasbro put them out?

I also got Majesty, who has no US counterpart. I also know that Buttons exists. Has anyone ever heard of any other European exclusives? And does anyone know if Europe put out versions of all the US porcelains? I've only seen Applejack and Cotton Candy.....

I've been calling them Swedish porcelains, though I don't remember where I heard that from.. They were sold in Sweden for starters, but also in Finland and other countries probably.. :p I have a sleeping Applejack, a Cotton Candy and traded away a ("Baby?") Moondancer.

The international porcelain ponies are exactly like you said, much like the basic ones, but of darker color and with rainbow logo under their stomaches. And a bit smaller is that so? I've never seen a comparation picture before! But that's pretty much all I know! (I prefer the bright colors to quality molds though. :D)

Mylittleponycollector.com had some info on them, but that part of the site is down at the moment.

I have Buttons & it realy has a poor paint job. Yhe paint is streaky.

my tootsie is like that, first I thought she was dirty or something so I washed her, nothing helped, I'm chalking it up to her poor paint job, most of mine aren't too bad, but I think some of them didn't turn out so good

*nodding* I just got a non-US cotton candy in today, and you can see that the paint job is not as nice as the US ones.

The quality control overall doesn't seem to be as high. But I definitely like the brighter colors!

Do all the non-US ones have the rainbow logo on their stomachs?

Were the non-US ones just sold in Sweden, Finland, and the other nearby countries? Does anyone know? (I'd like to update my website about porcelains...)

As far as I know all of them are supposed to have the MLP rainbow on their stomaches!

I've had three of these porcelains and all have the rainbow logo with My Little Pony text and under the rainbow it says: (c) 1986 Hasbro, Inc.

You did say it doesn't mention Hasbro under your Applejack? Maybe it's worn off since she lays down? My Applejack has parts of her rainbow and the text worn off too, but it does say Hasbro, Inc. I hope that helps!

I have a few pictures on my Photobucket, not of the rainbows though.

Did Enesco make some of the porcelains? I don't know anything about them but I remember that name...

My Applejack, like the other 2 non-US porcelains I have now, does say Hasbro, with the rainbow logo on her stomach.

The US porcelains have gold stickers on their stomachs, which generally name the company that made them ("Extra Special"). The larger US ones have a horseshoe mark and the name of the figure, and also say Hasbro-Bradley.

I was just wondering what company made the non-US porcelains, since they don't say, and I've never seen tags or boxes with them...
