So now that I *finally* have a pony room and can see my collection at once, I'm noticing that some of my G1's have issues I can't figure out. Specifically, some of the older ponies are feeling.... sticky or greasy. I've washed them, but it doesn't seem to help. Pets too - my Brandy is coming apart, you can't even pick him up, and his little features are smearing right off. Twinkles is getting a little tacky, and Windy and Peachy are starting to have that oily feeling too...

I'm worried about them! Anyone else finding this? What's to be done? I've heard there's a product that stops this but it also takes off ALL the symbols, eyes, etc. Is there anything else?

Also, some of my TE's eyes have lost that iridescent finish - without that, they look even more vacant and bug-like. Anyone know how to restore that???

*worried about my babies*

If you are storing them in a box or a cupboard, get them out in the fresh air. If you can, display them on the shelf.

I havent had this problem with my G1s, however Queen Sunsparkle (G2) has this problem and it has greatly decreased by me displaying her. Hip Hop also suffers from the same problem.

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I've noticed certain brands of conditioner leave ponies feeling somewhat sticky, and this doesn't wash of either (or at least not easily).
So maybe change your conditioner (if you use any)?
Hope this helps.

i remember reading something about the plastic ingredients separating from each other and that it is not fixable. my ponies on the shelf seem to be ok *knocks on wood*
