Next up, commissioned request to craft a second version of a harajuku themed g3 SweetTooth.

Harajuku Sweets Redesigned

harajuku_sweet_tooth_redesigned_by_lightningsilver_mana-d8yyvli.jpg

Commissioned request of a custom pony figure of the generation 1 My Little Pony named Sweet Tooth, redesigned this time with varied candies for the Twice As Fancy body work. So I call this Harajuku Sweets instead of Harajuku Sweet Tooth~ only components of this custom that hold Sweet Tooth’s design, are the body, hair and eye colors.
Pony base is a pose I engineered from two different generation 3 ponies (did some head/body swapping).
Coated head and body with a layer of Gesso to give a texture for the acrylic paints to bond to. Full body repaint in aqua acrylics, eyes painted in my realism/fusion style in Sweet Tooth’s purple color. All paint work sealed in Artists Varnish.Mane and tail are re-rooted in dollyhair’s nylon mlp hair in the color Heartthrob, which is an exact match to the original g1 Sweet Tooth pony. I made a few “hair extensions” from white curly hair that I attached to the tail, blue curly hair, a tuft of yellow mohair and a rainbow lock of hair I cut from another pony that are wrapped around the original bun I made on the pony.
Spent an evening twisting together various colors of hemp cord and gluing the strands together in light coats of Tacky Glue to create lollipops, rainbow candycanes and bon bons. Used golden metal rhinestones for the bonbons and detailed their wrappers using ribbon. Glued them all over the pony’s body and sealed in mod podge.
Next, since I was waiting for hair to arrive through the mail I went ahead and crafted the leggings. Hand-stitched bias tape, various laces and ribbons, detailed in little bows I stitched on, buttons and some strings of beads.
Also while waiting on the hair I pre-strung the bead work on floral wire then set it aside. Some of the beads are glass, antique, purchased from Shibori Dragon, a store that specializes in traditional Japanese textiles and accessories.
Also added fruit beads and Easter eggs, glued rhinestones to the larger leafs beads on the front. Hand-stitched a fan from red swan fabric, pleated purple polka dot lace and stitched it along the top. Made a piece of shushi from white leather, wide black ribbon and dotted it in gray acrylics and glued it on a leaf at front. Did some mild rhinestone accents on the face to finish.
Tied a pale green ribbon around the neck finished it with a few rhinestones.
To put it simply, looking forward to making more projects like this~

Next, a contest prize custom for Custom pony Blog.

Pony character’s name is Edgewyn~ ponified from the following book:

Nichi, another customizer from the judging panel mailed me the generation 3.5 hard-haired pony bait for the pony base of this character.
Started off boiling the pony in hot water, and popped the hard hair right off.
Coated the wig, head and body in Gesso for the paint to adhere to.
For the full body repaint, I blended 2 acrylic pigments, Territorial beige and pewter gray.
Painted the eyes to match the drawing reference, mostly blacks, white and a few greens.
Wig on mane is painted in base coats of metallic antique, dark barn red, dark brown with metallic black in the creases, then with a over-layer of neon red acrylics to make it all pop.
Cutie mark also painted in acrylics on both sides of pony.
All paint work sealed in Artists Varnish.
Tail is dark brown synthetic pony hair left over from a old project so I don’t have the package with the name or hair type. But when I went to curl it, it reacted like saran. But it has highlights of garnet jewel nylon mlp hair from dollyhair.com~
Base of tail has light brown hemp cord wrapped around.
Hat is hand-stitched bright red cotton, double layered, pleated and stitched to faux gold vinyl.
Cloak is double-layered, sturdy dark green fabric with a sheer shimmery scarf material over top. Lined the neck with white lace, and stitched a gold button on the front for a broach.

Moon Dancer – G1 – G3 in show style

Decided to gift Nichi a custom pony of her favorite generation 1 pony, Moon Dancer.
gifts__moon_dancer_and_her_pet_demon_hound_pluto_by_lightningsilver_mana-d8xk7wn.jpg

After doing some search, realized she was the pony in the 1980’s cartoon series that wore a cloak, crown and Rainbow of Light in one episode so I decided to combine her mlp toy style with her appearance in that episode.
Along with this I’m crafting a mini Black Butler Pluto The Demon Hound custom, a miniature version of one I sold.
Moon Dancer’s pony base is a generation 3 ice skating pony. It had ice skates, a light up crown and wires/electrical innards that I gutted out. Boiled the pony for a long while to weaken the plastic to make it more workable, and broke down the glue that was used to hold on the ice skates. Ripped the skates off, then spent some quality time boiling the pony repeated and carefully carving away the wire and things on the inside and cutting it so it could be repositioned in a laying down pose.
Tossed aside the original head and swapped it for a head from a rare standing Wysteria pose. Took a horn from a generation 4 Princess pony and attaching it onto the head with a sewing pin with a ball at the end of it and Krazy Glue.
Coated the entire pony in a base coat of Gesso to prep a texture for the acrylic paint to adhere to, then did a full body repaint job in pure white acrylics. Painted the eyes in my realism/fusion style, painted her cutie mark, sealed all the paint work then added silver, purple and magenta glitter acrylics to the stars and moon cutie mark.
Mane and tail re-rooted in dollyhair’s nylon mlp hair in the colors strawberry mousse, wisteria, Barbie sugarless gum pink saran, and some recycled magenta hair I cut from other generation 3 ponies. Some dark and lighter bright magenta. A total of 4 pink pigments used for her hair.Styled/permanently hardened in my hair gel method, made 1 pink and 1 purple curly hair extension for the tail and mane, with bows tied to their ends.
Cloak- cut neutral coral red fabric and hand-stitched it. Then stitched golden rope trim over top then some detailed gold sequin lace trim. Lined the outside with white faux fur.
Took snaps and stitched them at one end of cloak, then took floral wire an strung some antique beads on it.
Rainbow of Light- Took a plastic magenta heart I saved from a 3-D cutie mark I cut off a generation 3 pony for another project, and painted the front of it in gradients of red pigments. Pierced a hole through the raised back portion with a leather needle, and literally threaded floral wire through the hole. Wired a white heart button to the back, and a crystal heart with rainbow reflective flecks.
Wrapped rainbow elastic trim around the back piece for the rainbow and stitched it in place. Poked some more floral wire through the top of the rainbow, and strung more antique beads on it to finish the necklace.
Made shoes for her damaged hind legs. Used a pale pink cotton fabric with pink birds on it and fancy pink blossoms, felt it looked “royal” to match her cloak and crown.
Stitched pale pink bias tape along the top hem, then lined bottom of that with gold wired trim. Attached red bows on the backs, pinned real white leather soles and lined soles with the red ribbon.
Finished Moondancer’s attire off with a painted crown I recycled from the original ice skate pony used for her base. I painted it in yellow and gold acrylics.
Demon Hound Pluto-
Moon Dancer Majesty kinda has a pet demon hound named Pluto who has escaped from the anime series Black Butler. (Ssssshh let’s just go with this~)
Used a baby-sized generation 3 fakie, coated head and body in Gesso for the acrylic paint to bond to.
Full body repaint in antique white acrylics, eyes painted in my anime fusion-realism style. All paint sealed in Artists Varnish.
Mane and tail re-rooted in dollyhair’s nylon mlp hair in the colors arctic frost and white chocolate, then RetrodollUS’s white Frost Bite hair.
Mane styled in my hair gel method.
Popped the head back on~
Collar is faux eyelet leather, with some spikes wired in place. Leash chain added. Claws are rhinestones, and fangs are white feather tips~

Demon Unicorn Commission

demon_unicorn_in_silver_armor_by_lightningsilver_mana-d8wry6c.jpg

Commissioned request to make a dark unicorn armored custom pony to be the villain counterpart to the white knight gold armored unicorn I made in January
Requested that this one be in silver armor, dark gray body, white hair with subtle gray hints and bright blue eyes with cat eye slit pupils.
Pony base- engineered pose crafted from the body of a g3 core 7 cone pose, head of a g3 ice skate pony that had the light up crown and magnetic skates.
Took various severed horns, giant one from a styling sized g4 Princess Celestia, two regular g3 horns and a tiny horn from probably a g4 or g3.5 pony and pinned them through the scalp and Krazy glued them in place. Full body repaint job in charcoal gray acrylics, eyes also hand painted by me in my realism fusion textures. All paint sealed in Artists Varnish. Wired long horn beads as a start to the head armor, Krazy glued them in place too.
Glued feathers in mane and around largest horn. Wrapped black hemp cord around smaller horns and silver rope trim around base of bone horn.
Accessorized the sides with armor pieces- started with stitched silver metal hoops to a transparent beige scarf, stitched pale lavender pearl beads in middle, stitched the entire piece onto white leather, painted acrylic detail, cut the white leather then glued it to a bottom layer of silver faux vinyl.
Mane and tail re-rooted in dollyhair’s nylon mlp hair in the colors light gray raincloud, light silver Moonlight, and a custom blend of white blizzard and diamond.
Started the armor suit attire off with the hind legs. Crafted the shoes from beige leather, then a faux white patent vinyl. Lined tops with white leather fringe strips, made holes in it with leather punch to stitch the silver pieces on the front. Silver pieces are cut from the same silver faux vinyl, with white lace stitched around the edges, tiny metal oval hoops stitched along the fronts and white rhinestones to finish. Lined the soles with thick strips of pale gray leather. Bottom soles are white leather.Finished detail with a wavy silver ribbon trim and white ribbon.
Did a under-layer of dark burgundy spider web trim, with strips of shiny faux leather with thick brown strips of leather stitched over top with thick gold wire fastened in place via pliers.
Armor on back of legs- Cut from thick silver alligator-print faux vinyl, hand-stitched silver ribbon with wire in it around the edges, some thin strips of regular faux silver vinyl in a cross-detail, then stitched thin silver chains. Two more layers of armor stitched at the tops.
Next armor crafted- Front legs. Started off making a unicorn gauntlet.
Cut a horse-shaped head from white leather, stitched it. Crafted its horn from two different sizes of silver wire, stitced it in place. Then stitched a thin line of faux fur for the mane, cut the gauntlet piece from faux silver vinyl, punched stitchery holes in strips of thick pale gray leather, lined the gauntlet piece with the leather then stitched the unicorn head to it. Cut out lightning bolt shape from same silver faux finyl, glued it to the gauntlet for detail and pinned some thin chain to finish gauntlet detail. A nice blue gray scarf material layered under the gauntlet as a under-layer. Cut a triangular pattern from thin faux brown leather and pinned it at bottom of both front hooves. Lined one hoof with light brown square rhinestones.
Other leg- repeated a under-layer of the dark burgundy spider web trim underneath with the shiny brown faux leather strapped over top with black ribbon stitched over it. Took black faux vinyl, cut a partial crescent shape and hand-stitched thin white ribbon around the edges. Stitched it to two silver faux vinyl armor pieces I cut out, put black suede eyelet strap around the pieces, and pinned beige suede piece on back of that leg. Detailed leg armor in a silver plastic bead hoop, thin chains and a silver rhinestone.
Shoulder armor- Both pieces are double-layered silver alligator-print faux vinyl leather that matched the hind leg armor, lined with the same wired silver ribbon. Cut lightning bolt detail from the plain silver faux vinyl and glued it over top, detailed in various black and silver rhinestones, silver rope lining the tops, round silver metal beads pinned in place at front.
Stitched light purple suede pieces underneath with purple and black beads stitched to both pieces of shoulder armor layers.
Front chest armor- fastened a layer of the transparent beige scarf material around neck and front of chest, dyiyvhrf s mystic fire topaz at the front with black and purple beads underneath, and strips of leather plastic over top.
Torso and flank pieces- fastened under-layer of belt under the belly. Took a strip of thick brown leather, punched large holes in it with leather puncher, stitched golden yellow beads into the holes with a fabric backing under the strip. Pinned black chain with the belt with a purple heart pendant dangling from one end.
Wing flap details- Cut the pieces from the thin faux silver vinyl, hand-stitched white ribbon hem lining. Took the thicker silver faux alligator print vinyl and cut the details for over top the wings, detailed it in the silver wavy ribbon trim and silver rhinestones and the silver metal beads with pale brown pearls stitched in place. Stitched metallic pewter-colored spikes to the tips and accented with tiny black rhinestones. Finished this detail piece by Krazy glueing down a silver metal skull in the middle.

That covers it for this month's posting~ thanks for looking~
