Sorry if I’m spamming this forum :p

A few months ago (would like to say close to a year) we got one of those motion Fashion-Style sized ponies from an arcade. We had gotten Fluttershy, and she was technically mint, aside from the dust she gathered in the shelf she was on.
Fast forward to today, we were rearranging some things in the pony cabinet, and once we got to Fluttershy, she had a “blurry” brown spot on her ear, which didn’t come off with anything, safe to say it’s in her plastic. :sadpony:
So please, check on your G4s!

Dude. They're not even that old yet. That sucks.

Good thing I'm getting rid of all my g4s. I noticed a g3 with a stain that looked like cancer....I thought they had really good plastic
G3s getting cancer?! Dang. Sad this is happening ;;

I know right?! She’s barely 3 years old... Makes you wonder what the heck was in those older plastics...

Yeah. G4’s have all the usual discolouration and “cancer” spotting all other gens are prone to. :(

My MIB Magic Scenes Fluttershy has a small spot on her ear too. This is a pony that’s never been opened never exposed to anything.
Oh no! :(
Terrible this is happening to newer ponies sooner than later ;;

I feel like that could be from staining as well? It looks almost black to me. That could just be the picture.
In person it is brown. I should pull out my Gingerbread for comparison.

EDIT: Compared to Ginger’s cancer, FS’s spot does look darker (excuse the horrible picture):

Still odd, as she was never played with, really...

Hmm. That is on an ear rather than some random spot in the plastic still leads me to suspect staining more, simply because it's a spot that would likely rub against something else. Unfortunately I don't have any from this set to compare, but I do hope this set doesn't start breaking down like, 3 years after release. I'd suggest sunfading to test but with g4 it feels rarely worth the effort of setting it up :p.

Staining was my first thought, but considering she had nothing like this at all when we first unboxed her, different plastic to normal G4s, and no exposure to staining elements makes this quite a weird case.

I'm afraid we'll see more of this. Toy quality has gone down, not up. They use cheaper and cheaper plastics... It's sad. You think companies would take some pride, but they only care about profit.
