Today my Mum and I went to do our usual thrift shopping. It was a great day for finding random things for us, then I got to the toy section. I did my usual round of looking at bagged items - then items on the shelves. When suddenly lo and behold I locked eyes with Butterscotch (Romper Room Pony)!!!

I have wanted this darn thing since I was three years old. I specifically remember asking Santa for her for many years. To the point that as I placed her in the cart my Mum said “isn’t that the one you’ve asked for Christmas forever?” Yes. Yes it is.

She is in super great condition for her age. She needs a bit of surface clean up. My biggest challenge will be to untangle and condition her hair. All her mechanisms are in great working order. My 30 year old search has finally ended. I’m so excited and happy now. This lady will be cremated with me. Lol
Ps: has anyone used a hair straightener on her before?

Huge congrats! MPPs are so cool and cute <3 It's awesome that her mechanisms are still working! The Preservation Project has some info on how to restore them and mentions that conditioner and a flat iron can be used: http://www.mlppreservationproject.com/misc.html#MPP

I know they can be used. Was hoping someone here has experience doing it to an MPP as it’s a bit different and I’m nervous. Lol! Yes, I have washed her hair and now it’s in phase one for her deep conditioning treatment. *fingers crossed*

Oh, sorry  I hope it goes well!

Congrats on your grail. She looks so much better

Here she is all cleaned up. I am SO happy with how she turned out, and that I didn’t distroy her hair cleaning and conditioning the “old fashioned” way. Phew.

@Safflower - Thank you! It’s for sure been a bit of a learning curve this time around.

@my little pony collector - She was for sure an extremely lucky find. I paid $4.99CAD for her. Never been so happy that people don’t know pony value in my life. Lol
