It's been a crazy long time since I've been here—probably almost 20 years? (I think it was 2001-ish).
Anyway, hello! I'm a 40-year-old collector and fan. I've been away from the hobby for awhile now, and have recently regained interest—ironically—while going about the business of selling off my G3 collection. I'm reminded of the joy of these little ponies upon handling each one: their vibrant colours, glorious hair and unique personalities.
It make me sad having to part with so many (I've got some heavy bills to pay) but I hope to one day start collecting again. I'm super excited about the G1 re-issues from Basic Fun for instance—I had no idea how far they were going to go with those! I see Gusty coming up next year and just can't wait. While I can't afford them now, I figure coming here and keeping in touch with the Trading Post community will be my best bet for tracking some of them down when I'm ready. That and I've had the urge to make and share some pony art; I love the current banner for the site and feel inspired!
Getting to share my joy of these ponies with others and being part of a community again is just what I need after some very rough years. Having been isolated for awhile now, it's great to feel able and willing to connect. So don't be shy, say hello, and I'll remember to do the same! Looking forward to participating here.
Cheers,
First Frost
