Hmm. I'm not sure if this will work out well or not.

Its not that I doubt the director, he's very good at what he does.

Its just that upon re-reading them the stories were pretty goofy. On par with some of the cheesier Goosebumps and AYAotD episodes.

Second, I don't think even Del Toro could recreate the seriously creepy artwork that gave many kids nightmares. (Ahem me) Stephen Gammel should have drawn artwork for all kinds of horror films and books. That man is a genius! Plus Del Toro has his own very distinct style.

Still, could be some good Halloween fun.

I dunno, Del Toro is responsible for that creepy eyes in your hands creature thingy in Pan’s Labrinth. That thing freaks me out.

I’d like him or Burton do it. I do think they’ve both got that good dark sense of direction and creations. Burton would do an amazing stop motion for the books though.

I'm definitely going to see how this turns out.

Cool

Del Toro should be very adept at this, if given full reign. During his work on the Hellboy films he was somewhat held back by producers so the films were beautiful but not 100% to his vision. Hellboy artist/creator Mike Mignola was extremely taken with his efforts and being a huge fan of the comic, I was sorely impressed with Del Torro's work. I knew him from other works, specifically Cronos and Devil's Backbone (I loved his film Mimic as work, but it wasn't the same level as the two aforementioned). He has a good sense of suspense, and showing just enough of something horrible to convey true terror without completely playing his hand at exactly what it is behind the shadows. I have high hopes for this project.

Hmm. That is an awfully short trailer. :/

I'm kinda bummed its not in black and white, or at least sepia.
