With my recent find of three Sweetheart Sisters, I had to look up the name for two of them (not a huge SHS fan so not fully up to date with their names.).

When I came across these two:

I kinda feel like maybe someone in the factory set the wrong ponies in the wrong package and Hasbro was all “well I guess that’s that then, ship ‘em out!” I just kinda feel like their names should be switched.

Has anyone else felt this way for any pony in any generation? Kinda an odd thing but it kinda bugs me. Lol

That whole set is weird. Bright Night has bows, Starflash has hearts, Sunblossom has stars, and Twinkler has... flowers?
Oh definitely. They're not the only misnamed set. The Tropicals oughtta have their names switched too.
Your both so incredibly right. These two just super stuck out and I was like amwaaaaait a minute. It must’ve been on a party night they came up with these names.

Then there are some G2 names that make no sense. Gardner? Junior?

I think maybe they were not named for their symbols. At least for the later ponies. I'm guessing they just thought up some names (maybe put them in a hat), pulled them out and stuck them to the first ponies they saw and that was that.

At one point they seemed to run out of names and started renaming ponies with different symbols like the baby sparkle ponies. They had way different symbols from the previous ones but you still got a Baby Firefly, a Baby Gusty, and a Baby North Star. And although there wasn't one previous the Baby Starflower looks nothing like Starflower. I wish they would have just come up with new names for this set or made babies for the adult sparkle ponies.

Can someone explain Junior to me? She’s not even a baby horse.

Ah that makes more sense, but still...

Lol I think those would make good names for two noisy Chihuahua.

How about Dibble and Dribble? Those names just sound insulting

Jabber would be fitting for a parrot. Iirc a Ty Beanie baby parrot had that name.

I get where the names come from but they’re so odd but I guess for the 80’s it was cute and more commonly used.
