Hi everyone!
I was born in '83 and I grew up with G1 ponies. I remember very vividly taking trips to the toy store and being able to pick out a toy, and it would almost always end up being a MLP. I still have about a dozen from my original collection, which are in surprisingly good condition (with the exception of High Flyer, whose hair I must've thought was too long and needed cutting. I can't imagine what was going through my mind when I chewed the tips of the wings). The first one I remember getting was Yum Yum. Unfortunately, I don't know what's happened to the rest of my collection, but I'm holding off replacing them out of hope (don't want to spend $50 on Night Glider only to come across mine in my mom's garage!).
Several months ago I went through a nostalgic period (thanks, Buzzfeed) and suddenly felt a desire to have my toys back. As I was looking up the ponies I had out of curiosity, I realized there were tons more, and the collecting began again.
I tend to go for the rainbow ponies and the ones with celestial symbols. I'm not too keen on the faces of the G2's, although I did get Princess Silver Swirl; that white and silver design is so pretty. I love the early G3's but don't own any 3.5's. I have a handful of G4's. Curious to see what the next look is going to be. It'd be nice to see more of a variety again.
Nice to meet you all!
