I have several sales going on right now where the buyer has made no contact in awhile.

The first transaction, the buyer was going to send a money order and the deal was made some time around June 14th. I have still not received anything and have not heard from her either.

The second said she wanted the pony, I got her a shipping quote and then nothing for four days now.

Now someone else on the board is looking for these items. Am I safe to try to sell or should I wait a little longer?

"The first transaction, the buyer was going to send a money order and the deal was made some time around June 14th. I have still not received anything and have not heard from her either."

In that situation, I email the buyer 1 week after they planned to mail the money order if it hasn't arrived. Since it's been a while, email asking if they're still getting the item and, if so, when they plan to send payment. If you get no response in maybe 5 days, go ahead and sell anyhow. Chances are they didn't send it for whatever reason or they'd have emailed asking where their item is by now ;)

"The second said she wanted the pony, I got her a shipping quote and then nothing for four days now."

Email and ask if she still wants the item and to please let you know when she'll be sending payment, and give her 2-3 days to respond. Some people will just go ahead and send payment within whatever they think is a reasonable time (usually 1 week unless making other plans with you), without contacting you to let you know it's on the way. I ask people to email and let me know when and how they are sending payment, and to email again when it's actually on the way. If I don't hear within 2-3 days when they're sending it, I email and ask them to please let me know.

Also, if I don't hear back by email within those 2-3 days, I usually pm and wait another day or so. Of course, it's your item and everyone handles things differently; that's just what works for me. Hope that gives you some thoughts on what you want to do!

 Edited to add that, if you need to sell and get payment for something fast in the future, sometimes mentioning in the initial contact and/or your post that you're only accepting transactions with people who can send payment within X amount of days since you need to get it quickly

I'm probably the first one. LOL. god knows I've done that to enough people..

(I ALWAYS forget about mail orders. I should give up and only buy from people who accept paypal.. )
