I think some of these are so adorable. I don't know much about porcelains, but I came across a site with pictures of them on a yahoo search. And I fell in love with the lazy afternoon one. I want it so bad now. Darn it, mlps are just too cute. I'm in love with almost everything I discover.lol

So what ones are more rare? How hard are they to find in general? What are the going rates for them? How many are there? How much does lazy afternoon go for? How rare is lazy afternoon? Were they originally sold in stores? Did anyone have them as a child?

Sorry for all the questions. Anyone else a huge fan of these?

Not really into ceramics... but there are some lovely ones in the range! :D

I think there were Euro and US variants.

They look like the "missing link" between G1's and G2's.!

i love porcelains :D i have one CJ (the cutest ever) and one coming in the mail with a winged (!!!) CJ :D

A winged CJ?!That I have to see.
I don't think porcelains are rare,but they are expensive!:0310:

there's two versions of them though, one of the sets has the logo on their stomach i belive(?) and are from europe or something. they havse brighter colours i think :)

yes, it's called frolic in the sky :D

I have a pretty large collection.

(info can be found at my webpage, here: My Little Pony G1 The Porcelain Collection)

Rarity? Well the Euro versions seem to be very hard to find. Of course, I live in the USA, so maybe it's just a location problem, lol.

But, in general, the more ponies on a figurine, the higher the price. Also, pegasus and unicorns go for higher prices. (I would assume this is because of breakage problems). Boxes and tags add slightly to the value, but not as much as you would think.

Actual prices swing wildly!

Awww Tif, your collection of porcelains is enviable x.x I haven't EVER seen them on eBay *emo*

When I have tried to sell/trade my international porcelain ponies, no one has ever wanted them, hehehe. I got rid of them eventually, though. But I wouldn't say they're worth that much, unless someone's especially looking for them. Not many collect them at all.

I think Buttons and Firefly and maybe Majesty are sort of rare, talking about the international versions again.

OOOH, What site did you find? I've not really seen any of them before i'd love to look

The rarest ones are Wishing Well, Ponies' Playhouse, Magical Kingdom, Bow-Tie, Peachy, Cotton Candy, and Skyflier for the US ones. Lazy Afternoon is harder to find, but not nearly as expensive as they are. Pegasus ponies are hard to find unbroken, since their little wings snap very easily.

Wedding Prance seems to be quite easy to find, really.

Of the two internationals with no counterpart, I think Buttons is harder to find.

The easiest one to find is First Born. A few years ago I got 2 of them in a lot for $5. An Affectionate Moment, Apple Orchard, and Pony Playmates are both easy to find too, but you'll pay more for them than First Born.

Medley is harder to find than Firefly (I've had 4 Fireflies and only 1 Medley over the years), and Glory is harder to find than Moondancer.

Lickety Split, Cherries Jubilee, and Tootsie are all about the same, but I think Lickety might be the most common. However, I do have like 3 CJ's right now, lol!

Come to think of it, I have all the US release ones and Majesty, so if you want pics I'll gladly take them for you. :)

oooh I saw the post before! oops - Had a look n see - there sweet, but I wont be collecting. lol very pastaly

Thank you everyone for the information about the porcelains. I really want that lazy afternoon. By the way that porcelain site is awesome. And what a beautiful collection you have. Did you find that porcelain majesty on a european ebay or from a private seller? Just curious.

All of my Euro porcelains came from private sellers. (And if anyone out there can help me to find some more, I would really, really appreciate it!! Lots of the sellers out there won't ship to the US, so it's hard for me to bid on overseas auction sites.)
