there was a pretty good deal on ebay for a lot of ~40 G1 ponies, and it ended up selling for about $2 per pony! it would’ve been a lot of money to spend at once, but it also would’ve helped me immensely in building my collection. i ended up getting pulled into work and missing the last few minutes + losing the auction :’(

i wanted to ask, how do y’all cope when you’ve lost a chance at an ebay treasure? i’m trying to tell myself that there’ll be other chances, and that i should be saving money anyway, and it’s helping a little. i feel like some of you long-time collectors have better wisdom to share, though

thanks for reading!

Sad, but there will be others! I usually buy something else when that happens, just to make myself feel better. I shouldn't but I look at sold listings which do not help. The was a mail-order Scoops that went for $30 that I missed out on recently, so I really know how you feel.

It happens to the best of us! I hate when I forget about one :( I'll say to myself, "okay, gotta remember to check it at such-and-such time" and I'll get busy with something and it'll hit me after. I'll run to my computer and rush to pull it up only to see that it ended for less than I would've paid  ugh! It's the worst, try not to think about it though! Nothing you can do.

I know the feeling. There was an auction for some Spanish ponies including Milky way and alternate Masquarade that I wanted. I used the make an offer option when they were first listed and of course the seller declined :(. The ponies looked like they needed some cleaning which I wouldn't mind, but I can't justify spending hundreds on just one pony. I didn't win the auction either. I will get a Spain Milky way some day.

I lost out on a Facebook marketplace sale on a mixed lot of Gs yesterday. The whole lot was $60 and there was a MIMIC! I'm so angry, I feel your pain. Just have faith that other great deals will come your way.

I forget auctions all the time after I try to remind myself to bid on an auction that has this super deal with something I want really bad. I know how you feel but as others have said something else will come your way. Lately eBay has been giving sellers deals on listings so I'm sure something else will come your way and probably sooner rather than later.
