Maki's Journey with a Brain Tumor: Updated Photo 6/5 last page

I was worrying about you just today, tula, hearing the news go on about the flooding in your area. Leaving Lousiana we were in a terrible storm and it rained so hard we hard to crawl down the highway, barely able to see a car length ahead of us. When we got home it has rained so much here it's like a swamp.

I'm sorry about Maki needing the medication at such a strict schedule. That would be nerve wracking to me, I'd be carrying it around, waiting till just the right moment. At least right now all of my critters are healthy (except for Princess Sparkle Arkle who struggles on, but is still alive much to the surprise of all). I hope he does well with all this. I hope YOU do well with all this! :D

Yes yes the floods are a huge stress. My parents live off of Oyster Creek and very close to the Brazos River. So far they are far enough South still they are okay, but I am concerned about them. It is very tragic what is happening here. Horses are in people's houses because the entire pasture is under water, cows have no place to go, animals are losing their lives, people are losing their lives and the property loss is significant to many right here in Houston as well as, surrounding cities. My heart goes out to those already that have lost all they had and to our soldiers that were overturned in flood waters and still some have not been found. This has been a huge disaster. It has caused the mosquitoes to just be in mass unlike other summers before. I am having to fog twice a day just to keep them away from my doors. They are getting in the house. It is just plain awful. They swarm on my little dog when he goes outside. My backyard is a swamp. I am very concerned about hurricanes this year. This summer is the perfect set up for Gulf Coast Hurricanes. Please...no...Houston can't take that now. A hurricane this summer would devastate our city. We are okay though. We have no water in the house. It has not rained yet today. So, fingers crossed perhaps we will get a few dry days and dry out before the next wave hits. It is making my mold allergy a huge problem. Maki has a runny nose. Its hot and humid and yucky mucky chicken plucky.

Yea that rain that was in Louisiana came from our area. Nasty it was. Thunder, Lightening, wind, rain in buckets, flash floods. You can't see to drive in that. I am glad you are okay. That is dangerous. Wish you could have just pulled over at a motel and stayed the night.

Bless Miss Princess Sparkle Arkle she is a strong girlie!

Oh his little face tells it all. He is just so worn out. His little poodle legs make me laugh from all the blood tests. My poor little baby. I long to see a happy face again. sniff....the driest place in the yard is up by the pine tree. The only sad thing is the fire ants have figured this out too.

Hope the weather gets better y'all's way and glad your doggy despite all the issue still is still going strong. I hope he feels better soon. Take care of yourself too stress is not good for you or him or family remember to breath and take things one step at a time. Things hopefully will work.
Must say again cute cute little poochie

Maki had his blood test today with the new vet. She is a wonderful vet. She told me that she feels the tumor is on the left side of his brain behind his left eye which is blind now. He has developed a new neurological side effect from the tumor. He shakes his left head as if his ear is bothering him, but the vet says his ear looks wonderful and healthy. The fact that he has a new symptom is quite upsetting to me. I really have no idea how long I will have him. Health matters with my family members have also gone south in a huge way. The load of stress and emotional pain on R2 and I both is quite high. I am just going to enjoy every hour my baby is with me. He is hanging out with me a whole lot more than he use to so, I am aware that he knows he is not well and that I am trying to help him. sniff He has also taken to talking to me for long conversations in which I say something and he says something and this goes on for like 30 minutes. It is amazing and very tear jerking. He is especially vocal when I tell him how much I love him and that I would go to the ends of the earth and back to make him feel better.

Aw, poor Maki. Hope he gets better soon and take care too, Tula! Maki is so cute so it's disheartening that he has a tumor. *hugs*

Bless you all. I will always keep prayers for Aki and you both. Sending special healing and strength xxxx

Stay safe all of you. Here's hoping the floods stop very quickly.

Every day is a gift at this point. Although I will say, I had a dog with inoperable colon tumours and he lived five years after the vet said he wouldn't make it a month. So miracles happen.

Yes this is true. The vet told me its really impossible to know for sure how long he has. She didn't give me a time frame and I am glad. Yesterday he was chasing Vinny and barking at the dogs going for walks down the street. I mean how dare they!

Every day will be a gift! Let's face it, none of us know when our expiration date is, so we might as well just live every day like dogs! Enjoy everything with gusto and roll around in the dirt!
