I bid on this not thinking Id win..... I was so happy when I did and she came today!!!

Should I rehair her? her hair is so faded :(

Alright, I cleaned her up a little, wish I could find my reg. baby quackers to compare.... her mane shows almost no signs of pink and her symbols are a little rub (ill probably touch them up)

I personally would rehair her. But thats just me. Some mlp collectors like to keep the ponies original hair. Your so lucky. I don't think I have ever seen the mexican baby quackers. Congrats!! I wonder did the mexican first tooth babies come with the same accessories as the us? And were their color variations to the accessories? Food for thought :wink: Good price too!
 
hmmm baby stargaze has one MOC, I can't remember what the accessories were like. Id actually have to have someone else do the rehairing for quackers, I really dont know how to do it. I'm big into restoring. And this ones hair is soooo bad it needs to be replaced
 
I have a feeling you are going to find alot of that is dirt/rust inside? I would stick her in a bath with whatever treatment YOU use and just run some conditioner through her hair and see how it goes from there.
I would try to avoid re-hairing her though.

That's really cheap but I would easily misstake her for a regular Baby Quackers.

I guess her condition turns a lot of people off who knows nothig about restoring ponies - like me :p
If I were you I would defiitly re-hair her. Just because they're rare doesn't mean you can't fix them up to be even better IMO.
 
I thought shed be rusty and mildewy too but shes completly clean inside!!! i was shocked, shes just dingy and stained. its going to take some time to fix her up but in 6 months shell be good as new!

well, her hair is 100% doomed? Have you tried soaking it in conditioner and stuff? Maybe you can use rit dye to fix the hair color so that she will still have her original mane. but be SUPER careful, as she's a white pony.

Wow, that's a pretty good price. I hope you can fix her up again, do your best to try to save the hair. I just got a Mexican baby too, Baby Surprise!

No, I wouldn't rehair her if I were you. It looks like she has the majority of it still left. Just condition it, and even if she is faded, at least it'd still be original.

Based on BabyStargaze's pics it looks like those Mexican babies don't have a lot of her, so she still probably has most of her hair. It does look a little faded but not beyond hope, I'm not familiar with foreign ponies but if they are some of the ones that have a distinctively different hair texture, I personally would leave it alone.

Yep. If you HAVE to rehair it, definitely use real MLP hair so you can maybe sort of keep the texture (It still might not be the same texture). But really, it will retain value better if you don't rehair it.

Interesting debate, for me personally, I would much rather buy something rehaired if the hair was that bad, or cut. But I really respect people who can rehair, Im too ignorant to learn how and even if I did I dont think Id have the paitence lol
 
If the hair is really bad, then yeah, a rehair is the way to go. A pony who is rehaired looks better than a pony with a buzz cut any day lol. But your baby Quackers there doesn't look too bad (and MAN that price!).

It's all up to you though, whatever works. She;ll be lovely either way.

you should try a picture outside, rest the camera on something stable to prevent blurriness. Why? Because I say so! lol Hop to it Daria! An impatient Julie says so! Don't ya just wanna shove a sock in my mouth?
