I have been working on my first custom for about 2 days now, and I want to say that I have developed a deep admiration and respect for customizers. I had no idea the work they take! And then to list them at $10, $15, or some I've even seen for $5!!! Wow.

Tell me about it.
I tried once and OMG. I can't even show a picture of it. You all would die with laughter =P
It took me forever and the result was horrible. Like something a four-year-old made
I'm so embarressed.

I admire the people who make those gorgoeus, lovely and stunning customs. I don't know how you guys do it. Even the ones that are a little more simple - I still don't get how you do it!

I had the same experience. My first custom was a disaster. I left the pony in the dye too long, the water was too hot so when I tried to put the head back on, it was crooked plus she now stands to one side. The hair was a nightmare. I ended up slicing the whole mane open, and trying to glue hair is that way. Its totally uneven and a mess.

I did finally do a real re-hairing (check out pony in my avatar) and that is the one and only time it happened. No desire to ever try a custom again.

while i've really gotten the knack of painting, i still have not had a successful rehairing... i tried it with a minty once, but it took me 10 minutes to do one plug and they kept coming out wonky. :(

x_X someone remind me to make a simpler persona....I nearly died doing dusky!
But yeah, I sympathise here, my first custom looks AWFUL! I think I abandoned her halfway through and ended up rehairing part of her mane with wire...she's an oddball!

I would like to personally thank all of you for your kind and inspiring words. Speaking on the behalf of many customizers, we all started somewhere at sometime. Creating customs is not an easy road to start on, but with the love and support of wonderful people like you it keeps us going through the rough times that we face. For that I am honored and greatful to have known you all, and to those whom I will meet in the future.

My sincerest heartfelt wishes,

Jennifer aka Diablalique

I've got the rehairing down, but I don't like painting. The eyes always get messed up or you can see the brush strokes. So now I just paint new symbols on and leave the pony its original color. I have fun with the hair, though, it makes them a little more unique.

Definate claps for the customizers who fo all out, though. Some of them are just beautiful! The pics always come out good, too. I especially like the G3 uni's!
