I was looking for something and came across some pictures of the G1 Butterick sewing patterns from back in the 80s. They were patterns to make G1 plush ponies.

Wondering if anyone has ever made them?

This one I had never seen before:

I also noticed someone selling a plush they had made from one of those patterns on ebay.

Does anyone know if there were any others, and also how big they were when made?

Not entirely positive, but I think Kitkatvintage used them (and adapted things)when she was making some (wonderful!!) plushies? If that is what she used, they are about the size, more or less, of the G1 plushie line. The ornaments are smaller, maybe 4" tops? Of course, that doesn't amswer your question at all. Lol

I have all five of those sewing patterns. I haven't yet gotten brave enough to sew the plush ones... I'm actually avoiding cutting out the pattern pieces, cuz I want to keep them nice. I haven't ever remembered to buy pattern ease in order trace the pieces (and I was just at the fabric store yesterday! Doh!). I've read the directions through several times and find some of them rather odd. The directions want you to use actual fake eyelashes for the pony... I probably wouldn't do that if I were ever to make one.

But I have used the ornament pattern for making my felt magnets. I adapted as I went, but used the patterns as a base to start from.

And I think DiaglaBrites is right, some of the plushie makers in our community have used the pattern, adapted, to make their lovely plushies.

Oh no, something else I need to buy lol. That would be so cool to make.

I bought the Starshine one recently. I'll just scan it because I really want to use it but I don't want to cut it! :lolpony:

Anyway, if anybody's made one of these, I would also love to see them!

Well, scanning it was also my plan... but some of the pieces are really quite large, so you may have difficulty with scanning/copying them. Let me know if you figure out how to do it though. I would much rather do that than have to copy it by hand...

I've also thought about the size before. I'll probably just scan it in sections and then tape them together before cutting. :)
