This might be the closest it'll ever get to me, but I'd be dragging my non-pony loving family into it to get there.
Would love to go, so we'll see. Thanks for the info!

Glad for the 2018 info! The fair did not work out for me this year but I'm glad they are working on something for next year that sounds more up my alley. I hope it will be primarily MLP but don't mind the idea of some more of my old favorites too. Growing up in the 80's all those toys have a soft spot in my heart (and many on my non-pony toy shelves). I also think it would be refreshing to have a more "girly" toy convention (ducks as I'm pelted with fakies for gender stereotyping) but to be honest I always see 80's "boy" toys every where and if I'm lucky there is a small corner for ponies, rainbow brite, etc. It's been that way for a long time, I think people don't think it's as big of a market for female collectors. I look forward to seeing what the fair team comes up with and cross my fingers I am able to attend!

Only a month away! I won't be attending but I hope to see lots of pics from you guys that go!!!

I'm disappointed they cancelled the pony expo that was supposed to be this October in Las Vegas. I live in Las Vegas, it was going to be my first one. The other ones are too far. :(

I wanna hear all about it! Who went? How was it? Much G1 action? I couldn't make it this year but curious about how the Hascon was.

Im not missing next year :) for sure :) i want to get on the email list to recieve updates so i can make plans

From what I've heard there will not be a Hascon next year. (Next one is scheduled for 2019.) But there will be a "non-Hasbro" convention that focuses more on what we would traditionally see at the previous MLP Fairs--vendors from the MLP community, panels relevant to collectors, etc.

Hascon was G4 focused (although they did have some G1 ponies on display and some G1 art) and the vendor prices were so high ($1,000 for a booth) that none of the community vendors could afford it.

IMO the best way to think about Hascon is that it was a marketing event as much as it was a celebration of Hasbro toys. They were definitely trying to work the hype machine on current products--hey look at our latest Transformers movie, hey we have a MLP movie coming out soon, hey look at our cool NERF products. So their focus was definitely more on CURRENT and FUTURE toys, rather than paying a lot of attention to HISTORIC and NOSTALGIC generations that came before.

Mlp fair definitely want to go ;) keep my eyes and ears open

Was it hasbro's decision to not have the fair this year? Hascon sounds like something I wouldnt of cared much for

Basically "MLP Fair" is now part of Hascon. It no longer exists as a separate entity. Same with Botcon, the original Transformers convention. From what I understand, Hasbro now legally owns the term "MLP Fair" (and also Botcon). So yeah, it was Hasbro's decision not to have a Hascon in 2018 (as far as we know so far), which means no MLP Fair in 2018.

In other words, MLP collectors are free to have a fair on their own (without Hasbro's involvement), but it can't be called the MLP Fair anymore.

Update 12/18/17:

Via Facebook video from Fair Hostess Summer: https://www.facebook.com/mylittlepo...ZW91El-Trf-jvREqWT0d0F2Pozuo6YuR0pjelUWK_BaDY

- The location of the 2018 Fair should be announced by or shortly after Christmas.
- By waiting to reserve your hotel tickets and reserving a room with the MLP Fair rate, it actually helps lower ticket prices for the Fair and helps the Fair provide more for attendees.

Pony fair at orlando fla :) anmounced :) june 16th & 17th

Hmmm, Orlando huh...
I don't think I could convince hubby to tag along with me to that one, might need to go halfsies with a pony buddy! Ugh, but Orlando at prime vacation time? And then who goes to Orlando without going to Disney and Universal? and then you're talking about turning a weekend thing into a very pricey, possible week long thing and I'm not sure I can do all that. But I shouldn't complain, I'm excited for a renewed pony fair and it will probably be a lot of fun for those going to have all the other cool things to do there. I dunno, I got some thinkin' to do
