It was really weird. I was looking at a my little pony book, and she grabbed my hand, and took away the book I was really sad.

in all fairness- provided that you do the research- it sort of is. There is a lot of lore embedded within Pokemon's creatures that have very disturbing and un Christian-like nature and inspiration. Especially when you consider that Pokemon really is just glorified dog-fighting, and that the Christian God is one of love, and who despises violence.I can sympathize. Although I think she was more of a teacher's aide than a teacher proper, I once had someone tell me that Pokemon was satanic.
well, while I personally don't see a problem with MLP, some who might look at it might consider it Satanic (remember, everyone has different values, that we have to try to understand, and accept, rather than mock and discourage). Just looking at the Pegasi, yeah, sure, MLP's looks cute and innocent, but it ultimately comes from Greek mythology, where there is A LOT of gritty and unacceptable stuff going on between the gods. For the Pegasi, someone had to be decapitated, and the mythical beast rising from its blood, which is pretty dark. (also, the whole false gods thing is considered Satanic). There's also the fact that it's a hybrid, and hybrids originally were fallen angels (demons), and thus, Satanic....Um. You were considered that for My Little Pony? I could almost get something like Pokémon, but MLP? Really? Was it because they weren’t (gasp) in natural colors? It reminds me of those teachers who get upset about kids coloring things the “wrong” color. Like, it’s coloring. It’s supposed to be a fun and creative thing. Why would you care if someone makes a purple frog or something?
I understand that. There are billions of religions out there. I'm not arguing against that. But solely looking at it from a Christian-based viewpoint- which I can only assume that these "x is Satanic" comments originate from, or have been heard from- it what I'm going off of. From a purely Christian viewpoint, the Bible- which is seen as being the word of God (just penned by man- as a secretary does), states that He is a god deserving of exclusive worship, and that anything deviating from that again, Greek gods and inspiration, and such, would, by these standards be considered false or 'satanic' as they didn't originate form God himself, and are unnatural.Just because something is not Christian doesn’t mean it’s satanic. There’s more religions out there than Christianity and Satanism, which is really just a very perverse Christianity. Many of the Pokémon have good, interesting stories behind them, drawing from myths all over the world (though I agree that there are some disturbing ones and that Pokémon is glorified dog fighting).
As for the Pesagi, while that’s true, no one actually THINKS that when they see a Pegasus. With that logic, yo-yos must be Satanic, because they used to be weapons and glorify violence. But no one thinks of this, because that’s not what they are today. They’re toys, not weapons. The Pegasus comes from a disturbing Greek myth, but you never seen this myth referenced anymore (except for Hercules, a movie about Greek myth, and they don’t go into any gory details). Today, Pegasus are associated with whimsy and girlish innocence.
Edit: That probably came out harsher than I meant it to. It’s just this particular kind of narrow minded thinking and fear of everything not Christian really tends to irritate me. Jumping at shadows causes people to miss the real threats.
i think it's best to accept that people have varying levels of spirituality. Some have strong, while others, not so much, ans even still, differnt people have different levels of what bothers their conscious. It's what you make of it, basically. It really baffled me why she thought that, because I grew up in a strong Christian home, but neither of my parents had any issues with me enjoying Pokemon. They even bought me Pokemon merchandise for birthdays and Christmas.
