Hello Everyone,
I'm new to your site and could use your expertise in how to sell a collection. My daughter, who is now 36 has a trunk full of My Pretty Ponies from her childhood. She no longer wants them and I live in a small home and do not have room to store them. Can you please tell me the best way to sell these? Thank you so much.

Given your daughter's age, I'll assume she had G1 ponies. First thing you need to do is identify which ones she has and get a rough idea of the prices you can expect for them. If you want to take your time and do this yourself you can use sites like MLP Land or the MLP Wiki to ID them and Bluerose's Price Guide to figure out approximate prices (you'll have to make some adjustments dependent on their condition). Or, if you can get a few group photos of of them, you can post them here and we'll be glad to give you the ID's and help figure out prices. Once you have that done, you can decide where and how you prefer to sell them. You'll get the most money selling individually here, but you could end up waiting a very long time for the commons to sell. The quickest way to sell is to put them all in a lot on eBay, but they'll go for less per pony and you have eBay's fees to deal with. I would offer them individually here first then after a few weeks group any that haven't sold into several small lots and put them on eBay. (Small lots do better in price per pony than large ones do.) Any more valuable ponies should still be listed separately though. You'll need to make note of any major flaws the ponies have - haircuts, ink marks, tail rust, and age related issues such as regrind and age marks/pony cancer.

Wow, thank you so much! That is a great help. I appreciated all the time you took to respond and will follow your advice. I will take pictures and post them to this site first to get expert suggestions. Again, thank you!

If you find a way to sell what doesn't want to sell without giving it away. Let me know.

Hello,
I posted the ponies, but not sure if I did it correctly? Would you mind checking and let me know if I need to do something else? Thank you!

Looks good. :) If you have prices in mind, you may want to add them to your post. You could also mention basic policies like types of payment you accept (most people only use Paypal but some also accept other forms) and whether you are willing to ship internationally.
