About:
The words and songs of Darren Hayes, an Australian singer/songwriter-formerly of the band Savage Garden in the late 90s--have carried me through many difficult times. This custom pony is an homage to his music and person--he has had an amazing glow up the past decade.

Specs:
-Failed Big Brother custom pony base from @shes-so-unusual (used to be lavender with sun and moon symbols)
-Full repaint with acrylics-body, symbols, eyes
-Nylon hair from Dollyhair, with a boil perm
-Handmade bandana from a floral print quarter from Michaels

The song lyrics depicted in his Twice As Fancy symbols are from these pieces:
-I Want You
-To The Moon and Back
-Truly, Madly, Deeply
-On the Verge of Something Wonderful
-Do You Remember?/Let's Try Being in Love
-Angel/Crash and Burn

There is also a rainbow gradient swirl surrounded by purple and white carnations across his body, symbols of gay pride. His body color and bandana are supposed to recall his look from the Sydney Mardi Gras event in 2022.

Thank you so much! :) Darren's music is all about symbols/codes and I couldn't use just one set to represent him. I love lots of his pieces, and these are the ones I play on repeat while walking/doing chores/feeling contemplative. :)

I was tempted to give him a lightsaber and Jedi cloak...I do have extra brown felt somewhere...:rofl:

My merpony is probably a disaster. I am waiting on her cabochons in the mail but ehhhhhhhh I want to just hide her from the world :(

Here's her tail so far, made with a wire and aluminum foil base, clay and layers of hot glue :/

Gluing on each little cabochon from Glitter Hearts is a pain in the butt; however, I think the effort is worth it because my merpony is really coming along nicely now! :)

I’m glad it’s turning out good! That kind of reminds me of how sometimes when I draw I hate the in progress sketches, but then once it’s all finished it turns out looking nice. sometimes you just gotta trust the process and keep going and it might turn out better than you expected!

I have such a hard time with trusting the process! :blush: And I am glad it's going well now! Going to paint the head/front half soon! :)

I loved painting this galaxy lady and I will probably make another space pony eventually! :)
 
Meet Rey, the Star Wars pony!

Rey is a galaxy themed G1 Sweetheart Sister pony with handpainted acrylic black, purple and pink starry clouds all over her body. She has blue eyes, a Rebel and Imperial symbol for her dual cutie mark. She has shimmery black, white, blue and purple hair from Shimmerlocks, Doll Planet and Dollyhair.

Rey was made for the annual Star Wars celebration--May the 4th!
