What paint is everyone using to paint, im using enamel and letting it dry but it always turns out sticky.
Please help

You need Acrylics if you want it to dry faster. I've heard that you can use enamels but you need to let them dry for a very long time. I've used some enamels on symbols and they're still somewhat sticky even after 5 years! You can get pretty cheap acrylics from Walmart, or any craft store. You can water then down to get a thinner consistency, but I prefer to use acrylic thinner. It helps the drying process and you won't end up with flaking when you're rehairing the pony.

does it crack at all when you use thinner to thin it down??

Not always. It depends on how much you watered it down, how much you're messing with it, and how you're applying it. Are you using a brush or a makeup sponge?

Some paints just seem less inclined to crack, some more, even within the same brand of paint.

I have cracking (if I thin down with water) when I go to rehair. The paint cracks and peels around the holes, sometimes significantly. I haven't had any of those problems with thinner, no matter how thin I mix the paint.
