Picture of the new winged unicorn pony and new animated character

I don't think the rest of the ponies will look like the winged unicorn. She's a one of a kind character since the original prototypes were seen at the toy show. The other ponies looked somewhat normal to the current pony releases. I do like the new pegasus character though. And I'm not sure about the new logo either. The older ones used to be so colorful.

I'm not sure if I like this pony or not. Being a G1 collector predominately I prefer ponies that look more like PONIES than weird big heads and tiny muzzles. But that is just my opinion :)

I agree everybody has different tastes it'd be pretty boring if we all liked the same pony - and imagine how expensive that pony would bve to buy on Ebay ^-^ I think I'm entitled to my opinion even if I don't like her just as much as those who are excited by her have the right to theirs. I might be a G1 collector but I find BBE just as freaky as the new pony so I don't pick on the newbie ponies :p

I'm interested in the re-invention too. Yes they are a kid's toys firstly HOWEVER many collectors were buying non core 7 ponies and now with the core 7, g3.5s etc that number of collectors must be dwindling - so many people are saying they don't buy new ponies anymore. I'm sure kids still have them bought for them but the lesser number of collectors buying ponies would have to be hurting sales. If I was looking to buy a kid a pony I'd walk past that on the shelf . . .

I'm not surprised Pika said kids don't like them I would have thought a pony toy should be all happy looing and fat bodies and cute? :scratch:
 
I'd need to see a profile view of that thing's head to decide whether I really dislike it or not lol.

Ah!! I really really want that big pegasus!!!! She's so crazy and awesome looking! I agree,she doesn't really look like an MLP,but I love her anyway. To me it looks like the center of her symbol is a button,maybe her wings will flap!? I hope so!!

Yeah,I really don't like the new logo,it looks like a crummy,generic dollar store rip off.
 
The little blue rainbow pegasus is perfect! I want him on a t-shirt. And a coffee mug. And maybe the license plate for the front of my car. . . The other pony is very Star-Catcher-ish, and I'm not a huge fan. I am excited to see the rest of the line-up.
 
I must be somewhat the oddball. I like the unipeg as well as the other pegasus Rainbow Storm(not sure who called it that but I like it). The logo is well meh plain and simple... I want something in that logo other than pink.

Yikes... In my opinion, the leggy alicorn (yeah, the Latin's not perfect, but it's trying) looked much better when entirely molded. Losing the texture on the surface of the wings makes them look like half-inflated rubber gloves, and the tail is way too thin and short. Not that I was necessarily planning on buying her anyway, but I hope the simple all-molded one is available alongside this weird button-butt version.

I'm willing to look past the cheap-looking seams and the fact that her comb is just a re-hash of the styling ponies', since it is just a prototype picture. But I can't get over how hard and pointy she looks... Like if you threw her at your little brother, she could put out an eye. Is Hasbro still aiming for the 3-6 year old market with this, or have they revamped their marketing strategy along with the ponies themselves?

In other news: Rainbolt is super cute and, I think, a good candidate for boyhood. (Even if it is a bit of a stereotype to make the token male more physically active and rough-and-tumble.) The new logo is rubbish. Absolute worst yet. Although, I think the addition of a new logo on top of everything else will tip this line into the "G4" camp for me, assuming it all lasts for more than a handful of toys.

At least she's not core 7! And you can brush her hair! Whoot! I guess the younger ones like this "anime" crap on everything. I'm old now, I'll stay in the back with my G1s. :krakrani: Maybe the cartoon will be awesome and it will sway me to like them more.
 
ok for a monent lets take away the words 'my little pony' its a cute little pony, and the art work is great too.... i think its just a bit odd loking when you write my little pony on it and not.... um... Super hyper rainbow pony power fource go! after it.... i think if we were all loking at it as a brand new product it would be a bit diffrent, but its 100% away from what id call a mlp.... but on that note - i still want it!

Does this mean no more g3.5? cuz if so i rekon thouse things will be worth a bomb in the future....

I think Hasbro is changing styles to completely throw off the competing fakie-makers, who will frantically start reproducing My Little Frowning Alirexic Pony and the water-retaining manga Pwneh, while Hasbro - laughing their royal behinds off - go back to creating 'normal' ponies, rubbing their little hands 'cause they know they set back the fakie-makers and cost them a fortune!

That or Hasbro has seen the immense amount of awesomely fabulous fakies coming in from China (ref: Demon Donkey thread), and because Hasbro realizes just how hopeless they are when it comes to being original, they've actually started ripping off the fakies, whose boxes are renowned through-out the pony collecting communities for their amazing details and creativity...
