Hi guys! So I had to take a break from the trading post due to all the things I had going on at the time. However, I am back and my love for ponies is still going strong!

Anyways, I have always been really big on sewing, quilting and embroidery. I love making clothes, bags, blankets, stuffed animals and more-many of which are pony themed. That brings me to the question, what do you guys think of the idea of selling some of my sewing projects? Specifically pony shaped travel pillows, G1 and G3 style stuffed animals, as well as handmade embroidered bags, quilts, aprons and more. I've been thinking about selling on here and if it gets enough interest, I might open an etsy shop and not only sell pony things, but also clothes/non pony stuff as well. BUT FIRST! I have to see if there's a market for my product out there.

Now I know that a lot of people make pony things, but I don't really see much out there that is like what I do. I try to keep the designs similar to the G1/G3 styles and I incorporate a LOT of embroidering in my work. I could, however embroider a more modern G2/G4 type pony if asked, and I hope in the future to make a pattern for a travel pillow in that style as well.

Another thing that would make my products different is the types of materials I use to make my products while keeping them at affordable prices. For example, my travel pillows and stuffed ponies-I would hand embroider the facial features and the symbols rather than using felt, googly eyes, or any other crafting material. I would also make them out of fleece and for the hair, I've been successful with fleece yarn (which looks similar to the G4 funrise ponies' hair and doesn't unravel). My goal is to keep the prices low and create a product that is not just a piece of art, but something that can be used over years and wont self-destruct.

As of now I only have pictures taken of my travel pillow prototypes and my pony quilt- but as soon as possible I will post pictures of my kitchen set and maybe some other nonpony sewing projects that I've done so you can get an idea of what I do.

The travel pillows are about 11 by 18 inches and I would charge about $30-40 on them based on the type of pony it is. (earth, pegasus, unicorn, seapony, etc) I can also make smaller, child-size ponies. (I would charge less for those)
-Please keep in mind that the pictures you see are just to get an idea of what it is I'm selling, not the final product. These are more of "prototypes" and the finals will be a LOT neater and the embroidered symbols will be filled in with a satin stitch! Lol!:lolpony:
-I've also decided that rather than embroidering the wings/flippers as I did on the seapony pillow- I will instead make them out of fabric and sew them in so they are "3D" and you can flap them. (like I did the ears)
-I can make any pony you would like in any G1/G3 style body type (earth, sea, unicorn, pegasus, etc)- just keep in mind the difficulty of the symbol or the features might add to the price. I would definitely start out making these to order until I get more of a following. Making them does not take me too long-if I sit down and do it I can probably get one done in maybe 1-4 days depending on how much schoolwork/extracurricular activities I have going on.

Also I have a butterick pattern so I can make regular stuffed ponies out of the same material as the travel pillows. Again, what would set my ponies apart would be the durability of the materials used, as well as my hand embroidery.

And then there's my quilting. I could make a quilt like what is shown, or I could make more of a patchwork quilt with squares that feature embroidered ponies. I am also able to make bags, aprons, potholders, etc that I could embroider on as well. (think vera bradley)

Below are some pictures...

Here's my G1 Minty prototype travel pillow! Note that on the final her symbols will be neater and filled in with a satin stitch.

Here is my travel pillow prototype of G1 seapony, Wave Jumper. Note that on the final her flippers will be 3D like the ears.

And here is my quilt which includes a sample of my more detailed embroidery.

Phew! That was a lot of writing!
Could you guys please tell me what you think? Also if your interested in ordering, feel free to let me know through a pm because I would love to work something out! I have never made any transactions on the trading post before but I do have 100% positive ebay feedback that I can provide proof of. Thank you guys so much! :winkpony:

I LOVE the quilt. I could totally see that in pony lovers rooms everywhere! That's something I'd have to save up for though.

I would total love the pillows or quilt. You know the pillows if they were a little fuller would make great boppie rings they're U shape pillow rings that help baby sit up or they are to lay on. A pony mommy or daddy might like one for their little baby just a idea based on shape and working with those kinda pillows for so long. But the sea pony is my favorite.

I know I would loooooove to buy pony pot holders! All of your pieces would be just darling for gifts!

The pony shaped travel pillow is a great idea! The shape works really well. :) The embroidery on the quilt looks lovely too. :ponylove:

I like the idea of 3D flippers on the sea pony design. I've done something similar like that myself on bags and scarves I've made (for example a tail that could be wagged on a tote bag themed around a dog-like character) and I think it adds an extra element of fun. :)
