Hi all! Somebody asked me for some advice in restoring over on instagram however I've never restored a plush type pony before so I offered to ask here on their behalf.

They have a UK Cotton Candy pyjama case and are wondering if there's any way they can restore it over time. I've included some pictures.

The hair has been cut and the eyes removed and replaced with buttons. They still have the original eyes and eyelashes if they can be put back onto the plush. They're unsure how you'd add new hair without damaging it in some way, it does have a zipper though I've personally never seen or handled one so I'm unsure how easy it'd be. There's only one listing for this PJ case on the UK Ebay and it's paired with a Bowtie for £400 so they're unsure how easy it'd be to buy a replacement unless somebody's selling offsite.

To me it looks like the hair is attached at the half point horizontally (doubled over like a tail is) and sewn across vertically. That could just be what I see but if anyone knows exactly how hair is attached to these it'd be much help.

Any advice (I guess it'd just be if it can be rerooted) would help! Thanks!

It’s a pretty ambitious project but very doable.

She would have to open her seams up to fix the hair. Easiest would be to essentially make hair wefts to sew back into the pony for the mane and tail. The eyes (not sure which version they are) would either have to be sewn back in our use a strong fabric glue (a good upholstery glue would work). Then she’d have to sew her back up.
