Quarantine hair!

My thyroid made me lose quite a bit... it's easier on my neck at least. My neck couldn't hold your lustrous locks. :hmph:

oh man if i wear a braid several days in a row i get headaches o_O

So, in the interest of easy hair care with my numb hand, surgery, and recovery, I chopped my hair off. I’m on a quarantine so I don’t get sick before my surgery, so I did it myself... mostly. E decided to help since I so easily trimmed her hair. The results are not as I hoped, but my neck feels so light and cool. Worth it! It’ll grow back.

definitely shorter than desired. Some of my tinsel actually shows! lol

I like it! I had a very similar haircut a few years ago, when I had my hair very short and was letting it grow back to shoulder-length afterwards. I loved the free neck, I was always running my hand over the stubble as it felt so unusual after the longer hair (I usually wore them either short or shoulder-length), Now they are in covid-19 mode, they have never been so long before and washing my hair and especially brushing it afterwards takes triple the time.

I like it! I don't get swept up in the beauty department. I do straighten my curls and put on mascara every day but that's about it. I love and embrace my white pale skin, my freckles, my red hair and my sunflower eyes so I just go with what God gave me and move on. It kills me to go to the salon and pay $35 to cut my hair but I don't like it getting too long. @Tak I think you look beautiful!!!

Thanks, you have natural red hair?! So cool. Mine was wispy white blonde until I was 12.

Thank you. It feels a little boyish, but, my neck is so happy . I’ll never let it get long again.

My hair is the shortest it's ever been and it's a tad past my waist. I know short hair is cute, and certainly cooler/lighter, but I just can't give up my long hair. It's a cultural thing of course, plus it's my preference.

I do need to go get my roots bleached so I can re-blue my hair. I haven't had it done since the end of March and I have about 3 inches of my ucky real colour showing. MYAHHHHHH

I love long hair. I also had it long and could do so many styles with it. E had hair so long she could sit on it until she was 8? I think. Then I told her she had to take care of it herself, so we cut it. Mine I cut for quicker showers as a single mom. I've had it long since then, but since my neck fusion, I definitely like it short not the look, the feel. I just don't care what others think of how I look anymore. As long as my embarrassing mom level doesn't go too high. lol
I don't wear make up, I have an odd shaped splotch of freckles on my face, the scar on my neck, baggage and dark circles under my eyes. I do love my eyes, though. One green and one blue. They're odd like me.

Yes, once it gets to where you're sitting one it, it should be time to cut it. Mine was right above my knees at one point as a kid and I'd sit on it, get it in the toilet (UGH), get tangled up in my sleep to where it bound my legs! I begged my mom to cut it, and she wouldn't, so my friend Teresa did it for me. Apparently she did a butcher's job in the back and mom had to cut even more to fix it, but I was happy! :D

I can't do make up either. I end up looking like a clown. My mom joked that I could paint the Mona Lisa, but I couldn't do make up to save my soul.

YOu have different coloured eye? I'd never noticed Now I gotta look closer at your pics! Hank's dad had mismatched eyes, one was green and the other a very golden hazel. I love it!

My hair is about that length, too! Probably a little shorter, though.

I was planning on getting my hair cut and possibly dyed pink or purple professionally, before the shut down

Salons are opened back up but I'm not going

My hair could go either way- get it tidied up or let it keep growing and keep putting it up in a bun no matter how long it gets

I have super thick native hair too so I have to keep it up or I'll suffocate from getting overheated lol

Last time it was done I cut it myself cause couldn't bathe easily breaking my foot

But I won't cut my own hair ever again cause I started getting confident about it then in-laws made snide remarks

So forget that anymore

Rude in-laws. I only really cut mine so this surgery will be easier. I'm not ready to brave a salon either.

I love long hair, though. I like styling it on myself or others.

When you say native do you mean thick, black/dark brown straight, shiny, gorgeous?
