I recently bought Dipper, she's now been sun-fading for about a week, as she was full of yellow "highlighter" marks and her body was more beige than white She's now perfectly white again, but what the seller didn't mention: not only had someone written a previous owner's name on the bottom of the float (I could have lived with that), but also on the pony, right next to her mane! :madpony: I now want to get rid of these pen marks, but sunfading doesn't seem to work. I've smeared Salon 40 Creme on the text on a daily basis, but it's still there. Has anyone had success in removing pen marks from a pony? She also has two blue (probably also pen) marks on her chest which haven't faded yet either.

I've already tried with a magic eraser and acetone-free nail polish remover. Acetone is on its way to me, so I'll try that next once it arrives.

Here is the text I want to remove:

This is something I’m looking to be able to do too since some of mine have biro marks on.

I’ve tried acetone, it doesn’t work. I don’t know if G1 pony bodies react any differently to G3’s since I tried it on a G3

Pen can take a very, very long time to sun fade. anywhere from a month or two to over a year, have you tried an Oxiclean (I forget the European equivalent is) bath/soak in the sun for a day, then put the peroxide on it? You can also try removing some of the ink with 100% acetone, you might at least be able to pull up some of the ink with that.
Flipping Amanda writing her name recklessly all over her pony, she really wanted her to be safe. ;p

Thanks @Skybreeze. Wow, up to a year? No, I haven't tried oxiclean yet. So I'll put her in a container containing oxiclean and water for a day, then I put Salon 40 Creme on it again and put her in the sun again? For how long? Is oxiclean safe on her mane?

Ha ha, yes, flipping Amanda. She must have been a very possessive child....or she had kleptomaniac friends. :lolpony:

It's such a difficult spot. You could try ink remover or tide pen. Sometimes hair spray or wd-40 has worked on sharpie for me. It's harder to try with ponies.

Thanks @Tak for the suggestions. Phew, I had to google that stuff, I've never heard of wd-40 and a tide pen before. I'll have to check if I find something equivalent over here. Yes, I think biro or marker somehow leaks into the ponies' plastic, so that's probably why its so hard (or even almost impossible) to remove. I'll try that oxiclean bath in the sun tomorrow. I'm not sure I have a transparent container though, I'll have to check what I have.

Dipper has now been in an oxiclean bath for the whole day, but that annoying text is still as vivid as ever. :madpony: Well, she'll be back to sunfading with Salon 40 Creme tomorrow. The acetone still hasn't arrived (I ordered it ages ago), I hope it arrives soon so I'll be able to try it as a last resort.
