Repinking: a Success! Pics! Now....re-glittering.

I have a Medly and a Twilight who's symbols arent as dark as I'd like them to be. So I went to my craft store today and got the really fine glitter in matching colors. I also picked up a fabric marker but the cap matches the hasbro pink, and the marker is too "neon".

How do you re glitter symbols? I heard clear nail polish and then sprinkling the glitter on. Can anyone testify that this works? And glitter is messy in general, is there a better way of sprinkling than touching a fingertip to the glitter jar and rubbing thumb and forefinger over its destination? (Doesnt work so well)

And what brand and color or color name/number of fabric pen do you use to repink? Or does someone know a better method that doesn't involve rit dye? Food coloring maybe?

Thanks all! I'll try dipping it in red white vinegar and laying the pony flat so the dye doesn't run

And no, BrownCrayon, you're not the only one I even tried doing symbols with 'permanate' marker. Worked great, smeared horribly.

mod podge, LIGHT coat (goes on white dries clear) sprinkle on.

hair food colouring, red food colouring will turn hair pink.

it's the best for touching up glittery symbols. I'll make a tutorial sometime, regarding Firefly and blue sharpies.

EE Thank you SquirtSquirt! It really does work!! May not be 100% perfect perfect but I'm very satisfied with the result.

Kiss Curl's pure white hair is now PINK!! I left the mane white for a before and after.

And Glow has pink hair too! If her new owner doesnt like it, she can leave her in a window for half an hour

Ya me too. Blue ponies look best in white. Tornado, Night Glider, Dutch love letter and Wind Whistler. Well the NSS version. I dont have the SS one but I think she would be better pink. But I just HAD to try it, and my bait Sunspot wasnt taking the dye, and I thought Kiss Curl could stand to be a bit more girly LOL
