It's very much in the tradition of Captain Marvel's old comics (which I can never afford as they are super old and expensive). I'm sorta sad they chose to go with "Shazam" instead of Captain Marvel, but Marvel already threw out their Captain Marvel , so I guess they decided things would get confused. He's not even really a DC character originally. He belonged to Fawcett and DC bought him along with the rest of their character stable in the 1970s.
Now there's a buncha trivia you didn't care about. Wanna hear about the other Captain Marvel, whose body parts fall off and move independently of each other when he yells "Split"?
