I'm Thinking about selling my Pony Collection to fund my Novel " Blossom and the Dragon."

1568060662267.png

my collection consists of G1 Ponies. sadly all Stuffed in a large bin for years. Not to worry I'm a bad nut. Each pony in its own back.

I have an awful lot.

However, I'm not sure if I should bother to sell my G1 collection considering it would cost me even way more to recollect them all again.

I will post pics to show you what I have. Soon.

We just moved into our mortgaged home. And going through bins and boxes. What a lot of clutter.

I just can't decide. Personally, I have done just find funding my novel on my own so far.

however, what is the point, keeping ponies if they are burried in a bin never to see the light of day.

What do you think I should do.

It's hard to decide

Can I just say your cover is gorgeous? Wow. :ponylove:

It all depends on how attached you are to your collection and what kind of funding you need for your novel. I've published three novels and I'm a broke college student, so it's definitely possible to make a literary project happen without having to sacrifice your collection.

I can understand the space/clutter issue, though. If you really feel like you need to downsize, you could always keep some parts of your collection that have sentimental value and sell the rest. But if you're already considering the expense of recollecting them all, then it might be better to keep them. It's ultimately up to you and what's best for your space situation.

You're not the only one with your collection buried in a bin! I'm still waiting for a good display opportunity. XD

I would go through and decide on a pony-by-pony basis which ones you would like to keep, which you don't like, etc.

I think that's a pretty personal question. There is no right answer since it will be different for different people.

The only advice I can give is how I personally handle difficult calls like this. I always ask myself: Will I regret getting rid of it/them? Will I regret keeping it/them? (I have a "living" personal library, so I donate a couple hundred books a year. If I didn't, I wouldn't have the room to buy new ones.)

If you're torn over the entire collection, I think twishy's advice of going pony-by-pony is a good idea. Are there any certain ones you will regret getting rid of?

:ponylove:Gorgeous artwork! And that summary that doubles as a poem on the back? Brilliant!

As for the great question, it's totally up to you but I have noticed quite a number of people coming back into the fold wishing they haven't sold their's off. I'd say, if you're having doubts and money and space aren't an issue, hold on to them. Maybe a few months or a year down the road you'll have a more concise answer for yourself.

Thank you Ziegirl. Hugs. Alex Blue Bird did an Epic Job sketching my characters out. She is very talented indeed and my core Partner on this whole new Franchise Project.

Yes, I love to write. And on this level, I'm alone coming up with everything over 130000 words manuscript is already completed. However, going through my edit process I noticed a missing Halloween theme. Got to add that part in. I'll just edit my way to that part.

Books are my main goa. l have over 21 lined up waiting to be written. However, I sneak in between to write the chapters for them.

Novel seven Shattered Trust have over 35000 words written for that story alone had to st and move to the first book to complete.

I have a dream that someday these stories would be in the theater or a whole new TV series. However, it's wise to climb the latter not try to leap to the top. So I pace myself.

Thank You Twishy. I will at least look over my collection, and see what I've lost interest in and don't care to see it go.

So true Chii, that is my biggest problem there. Selling now, regrets later. My husband feels its no big deal to let go and sell-off. It's a dam if you do dam if you don't. Game of chance.

Thank you Jadecade. Alex Blue Bird is a Brilliant Illustrator, I can send her any of my characters and she sketches the action scenes out, She is Epic. However, I'm no lazy slug. I pull my weight and work with her. combining our skills you can see the results. I'm both humbled and honored to have her on board this Massive project. we do our very best and put in a 110% into the creative works. When it comes to the story side and the poem you just read. I'm solo in that field. This book is over 130000 words long and I'm not finished editing all the chapters.

I did get in over my head and send it to an editor without thought. Her response. the story sounds like a screenplay script than a novel. Tried to write more like a novel. Still that same problem. Okay, fine will publish as a script. Big problem. Scripts Have 130 page limit and two genre.

So I'm deciding to be bold and daring inventing a New Category in the Field of Writing ( Scrivel Novels ) the bowl of Novels is too flaming hot and confusing. and the Bowl of Scripts is cold and Cruel limiting the mind of creativity. we need a New Bowl the Goldilocks effect the bowl that is Just right for the Author's mind of creativity. I call the Just right bowl of Porridge ( Scriveo Novels )

Granted every new category needs a set of rules. However, this new category i invented gives the writer more freedom to write to their heart's content.

Not to worry I'm going to have an editor to go over the Novel before it gets published.
I love to write and yes I have a fire in my soul to invent created and go beyond what already been done.

#1 space no problem. We are decluttering our life Getting rid of clunky TV and Desktop computers. Giving away a bunch of stuff not used and not needed.

#2 Money. No problem there. We are in fact doing great with our budget. Always have extra aside just in case. plus we are planning in advance for Land taxes and Home Insurance. Plus I can always source out income from other places. Selling my Digital Artwork (As coloring pages ) for personal use on Etsy. Have over 100 characters. You can see most of them here. And got way more on my tablet waiting to be illustrated. True there is Kickstart. However, Personally, I feel weird asking for money. Especially when I'm doing fine working on the budget we have.

.

here is a sneak peek to a brand new character I been working on...

Attachment-1[18464].png

this is still nothing compared to what I got. Some characters I might do an upgrade with. I totally dig the furry look.

There is also Invent Right https://www.inventright.com/

Already have my trademark Registered in Canada ... Paid in full. Just waiting for the final Result's. plus I also plan to Trademark in USA soon.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Furry Equines called The Clyonies. In other words yes I'm personally building a Whole new franchise. Granted the novels are for Young Adult. However who said you can not have a child-friendly side to a Franchise too. Example. DC comics a lot of dark however they did make some kid-friendly content too.. So yes you can do both.

Land of the Clyony.png

And yes I got my Copyright non infringement opinion from my IP Lawyer. Yes I'm prepared in advance for Hasbro should they ever decide to take me to court.

Screenshot (329).png

however, I want to wait until the book is ready to be published to marKet First before tinkering into Invent Right.

I love to write and yes I wrote a prologue too. This one is the opener of how this world came to be. True at first it was and info Dump however fixed now its way better. Once my written work is copyright protected. I will post the Prologue for all to read and see Free.

Thank you, Everyone, for your Kind words, Upfront honest Advice, and support...

You are all truly the best, Hugs.
