Spirit Riding Free

They just showed up at my Fred Meyer. So many to choose from!

I do like that pinto and Spirit Jr. has nice conformation. But that half moulded/half brushable hair irks me. To get? Or not to get?

So I got another, despite my misgivings. The plastic is much nicer on this guy, but one side of his face is literally swollen. The doll is cute, but not staying.

I've renamed him Arroyo, as I want Breyers Boomerang to be my Boomerang. He's cute. Nice hair.

Dosie Doe has caught his eye. They could have a very lovely foal together. Don't you think?

Ah-HA, so this is where this thread went! I had seen like... a few months ago that I was tagged here, but failed to find it when I finally had time to post on the forums again. :B Talk about a brain-fart.

(For the record, I don't normally take months to reply to threads. Life was nuts at the time.)

Brain fart aside... they're interesting, for lack of a better term. Nice poses, and they're definitely higher quality than some of the other horse toys I've seen for that price. Seems like they'd be a good starting point for beginning horse customizers.
The only ones I've actually seen in person are the Breyer models, which are of course a slightly nicer quality. Still not sure about that price tag, though!

You took lovely photos of them; I really love the first one of Junipero. ♥ Looks like he could be out on range.

@Mimic Eh. Life happens. ^^

Yeah, the price isn't great for such cheaply made horses and dolls. Probably best to find em loose if you wanted em for customs. Or to just grab the Breyer kits. Plus, I've seen some flocked versions and blind bags that appear to be SM sized. The doll has articulation in her legs, but not arms.

Glad you like my pictures. :ponylove: They are a good looking duo.

I kinda wish I could find the dolls and horses around in my area. I'd get them.
We only have the big Spirit that eats. The larger dolls and the white horse and other one. I saw the barn too.
My niece wants the barn I just want to steal the bridle it has.

Try Walmart.

Yeah the little ones have not show up yet at walmart and I don't live near a target or anything. Its always a waiting game out this way.

They made them as plushies by breyer! The whole set! Took some time to walk away.

oh I saw the clydesdale and white horse today I was so temped I love clyesdales and the while horse is pretty to me.

The Clydesdale has no hooves. Like literally, there is just a hollow space beneath the feathering.

Well there only like a 10 dollar toy so what can you do I still would get one.

Whatever floats your boat. :) I just thought I'd let you know. Plus its baffling that their other ten and twelve dollar horses have feet. I personally wouldn't pay two dollars for such a fundamentally flawed toy. Especially when I can buy a nicer one from Schleich/CollectA/Safari Ltd. for cheaper. I understand they aren't a highbrow toy company and won't get everything right. I don't expect them too. But even the cheapest, cruddiest dollar store horses have hooves.Shame, I like him otherwise. He's a good looking chap.

I get you on the idea. But its impossible for me to buy the higher end horse and sometimes you take what you can get. Beside being display only would mean I am not picking him up and looking at his feet all the time.
I am only going to invest in these toys if I can get the barn. Iono why but I am in love with the barn they have and would love that under my tree at Christmas. Doubtful I would get it but does not mean I still don't wanting it lol.
