How cute!
This is a piece written for young children!

おしゃれなポニー
Fashionable Pony

とんたん ぴちょん、さらさら さら。
(The only one I'm not sure of, something about rustling or murmuring?)

あの おと なあに。
What is that sound?

しずくの おと。
It's a dripping sound.

おがわの おと。
The sound of a small stream.

あれは、はるの おと。
That's the sounds of spring!

--- second page ---

さあ、そとに でて、はるを さがしましょう。
Come on, let's go out and look for signs of spring.

たんぽぽ、つくし、ねこやなぎ。
There's dandelions, plant shoots, and pussywillows.

あなたは いくつ みつけたかしら。
I wonder how many you can spot?

--- pill shaped info box ---

つばきにんぎょうを つくりましょう。
Let's make a Camellia doll!

(The rest of the box is too tiny to read. :( )

========================

Hopefully that helps! :blue:

-----------------------------------------
ETA: The pink pony is labeled as "Pinky" and the yellow pony is labeled as "Milky".

This is a seriously cool find!!

And @kardemumma did you translate that on a translator or just do it yourself? I’ve been studying Japanese for a long time!! - asking because i thought it was cool you knew what the comic said. I don’t know enough to translate lol

I try to research about Takara ponies but never find much information

this is seriously amazing! Thank you for translating, even if it is from a translator! (whether it is or isn't, thanks!)
I'm rather disappointed it doesn't reveal much about worldbuilding in the Ponyland they're from, apparently (according to other translated scans). But all the same, I'm stoked you were able to translate this!

super cool!
the majority of what I found out from Takaras came from here: http://www.mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Japan
majorly here (for worldbuilding): http://www.mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Takara_Translations

Basically that they live on Ponyland, on Pony Hill...in the Stylish House? And the Land of Close Friends is nearby.....not much else.

I was able to understand (and translate) about half of it just reading it, but some of the other vocab I had to look up. :) I don't use Japanese as much as I used to, so I try to translate things I see when I have a chance, so I don't forget. I'm glad so many of you found it useful!

Yeaaaah, I was kind of hoping it would say something more informative, but oh well. It seems like a short general publication to just grab interest. I was also surprised at how it was written--it looks like a lot of the other Takara material features at least some elementary kanji characters, but this piece was written in very simple hiragana, so its meant for the earliest of readers. So it seems like it must have been featured in a serialized work for little girls?
I'd love to know more background about this work, but there's just not much information out there. :sadpony:

I agree translator or not it was amazing we were able to find out what it said! I hope to be able to know more of the language some day.

I wonder if the comic came with a toy or something or like if they had a separate comic book line that they tried to do
