So I'm putting together my Thanksgiving menu. I usually make the same things every year but will throw in 1 or 2 new things to try. I've cooked Thanksgiving every year for going on 13 years now. It's usually about 8 people or so and I always make too much but one of the best parts about that is making leftover Thanksgiving sandwiches!
This is what I'll be making this year....
Appetizers:
Cream Cheese Celery Sticks, Fruit with marshmallow dip, Cheeses and crackers, Hot pepper jelly spread
Main meal:
Turkey, Ham, Gravy, Stuffing, Sweet Potato Casserole, Rolls, Corn Pudding, Green Bean Casserole, Mashed Potatoes, Lima beans, Cranberry Sauce and Baby Roasted Potatoes
Desserts:
Pumpkin Pie, Mile High PB Brownie Pie, Apple Pie, Toll House Pie, Chocolate Pie and Blueberry Pie
I'll probably end up adding another thing or two at the last minute, cause I always do but most of these are annual favorites at my house. It may be a bit redundant (mashed potatoes and roasted potatoes) but I have a couple finicky eaters. Usually I bust my butt cooking the day before after I get off work and then all Thanksgiving morning and early afternoon but this year, for the first time ever, I took off the day before. I'm excited and don't know why I've not done this in the first place. I'm going to make everything ahead of time and just do the turkey Thanksgiving morning. I think this will be much easier on me!
So, what are you guys doing for Thanksgiving? Are their traditional, must have dishes that are your tried and true? I'm always on the look out for new things to try and like to see what different things other people like to make!
