It's so interesting that they listed all the types of plastic the various toys were made of! Also fascinating to see the prices. Different times!

Do I ever! I used to have a website with a whole page about this so here, photo and text dump!
My grandma, rest her soul, spoiled us rotten at her house on Christmases, and also always had her camera out, and made photo albums for us. I'll always be grateful.. <3

This was I think 1985, and I got a present (this one was from mom & dad) that wasn't meant for ponies but which I've always associated with them, because it was my 'Dream Castle:' the castle play set from Star Fairies! (My brother got what I think is a Star Wars playset.

The top right is clipped from another picture a couple years later, showing the castle populated by Trickles and a plush pony I had with a music box inside (non-MLP). The castle was where my ponies and lots of my other toys lived. During middle and high school I lost track of it and it sat outside on my other grandparents' porch gathering dirt and fading in the sun. After I began collecting ponies again I went to their house and collected all the parts I could find, and began a long process of cleaning and restoring the castle. Multiple parts were lost, like the doors and windows, one of the tower caps, all of the flags, and more, but I had some parts still, so I built new ones as best I could, and when it was done my ponies had a party. So here is the castle again in 1999, with the special ponies saved from childhood together with the new ones I'd collected:

Someday I will try to completely finish it, and treat all the yellowed parts, but until then it's packed away safely <3

I'm pretty sure this was Christmas 1987 (so I'd be 7 years old here), a sleepover at Grandma's with my brother and cousins. This pic is so chock full of childhood memories... watching The Last Unicorn on the wooden-cabinet TV, with a sleeping bag that packs up into a Cookie Monster plush, and new MLP to play with! I loved Nibbles and Dibbles so, so much! I lost them years later when we went to a friends' house for dinner and I brought them with me, but forgot them when we left, and we never did go back. :( When I started collecting they were some of the ponies I was most eager to find again, and I eventually got them in trade for making customs for folks. They've been reunited with their crib and some of their accessories which I had kept and used with Barbies when the pony phase had simmered down.
Note MIB Princess Starburst in the corner, there!

Same day, now dressed for Christmas and getting my hair put up but not wanting to be too far away from the ponies, LOL. Princess Starburst is now free from her box, too! Because she was so fancy and special I never took her in the bathtub or outside, so she and her hat are still in my herd today, and next in line for tinsel restoration due to being adored and combed so much. :lolpony:

kidpetites.jpg

This must have been 1989, which is when Pretty & Pearly Petites came out, because there's a box of them, barely legible in the grainy pics above. (Despite the low image quality, you can still feel the '90's style a-comin' ) I liked looking at these but didn't play with them as much as I had with the regular ponies. I still had them 10 years later but in collecting frenzy I traded them for other pony things like a goon. XD So thank you again, @darklys for giving me my first petite pony in 24 years!

Love getting to share memories like this with folks who will appreciate them. <3 Thanks, all!

Here's a few pics I have posted! It's so much fun finding old photos like these.

Thread 'Look what I found!' https://www.mlptp.net/index.php?threads/look-what-i-found.115755/
Awww those are GREAT! You look so happy! Kids nowadays are lucky camera tech has gotten so accessible and easy.... they'll have crisp videos of their Christmases and they'll be posting toy reviews on Youtube! (at least until a solar flare wipes all our data..:lolpony:)

You posted an Easter basket pony and made me want to post mine too. It's not in the basket, my brother has it in hand, but this is labeled Easter 1986, and don't I have a jealous face on! If I remember right, we each got a pony in our baskets, Masquerade and Sweet Stuff (whom I called Gumdrop). I don't know whose was whose, but I wound up with them both eventually because he wasn't into ponies, lol.

Aw heck, one more:
This one is probably 1985 going by pony release years but it's labeled 1986? I'm actually older than my brother if you can believe it. I remember Heart Throb, though she was lost or donated at some point (I have one now) but I don't remember the plush! Going by the year it was probably Cotton Candy rather than Cherries Jubilee, but I've gotten my mitts on both by now. I definitely remember the Rainbow Brite sprite my brother is holding! And my dad still uses Grandma's coffee table we're sitting on <3

Oh the sprite! I love that. I had a plushie, I'm pretty sure it was Blossom but I remember selling her on eBay in college. I don't have room for them anywhere so it's ok. At least I didn't go crazy and sell my Ponies- I'm pretty sure you are telling your brother to give that back
I love these photos! I only have one saved but I know there’s more. Gotta go trough my parents albums. This was 85 or 86

You look so like yeah I got exactly what I wanted... don't you just love the decor from the 80's!! I think I had a bike almost identical to that one!

80's decor could be so gloomy and comforting at the same time! I love these retro pics, keep 'em coming!

Yes, I'm glad you still have them!! And you might be right, LOL

I need to go through my parents pics one day when I visit them Maybe I can find some pics of ponies and me. Lol.
