The wonders of Sun Fading!! (pics!)

so i had no foil to wrap the hair in for these 2 lovelies so i just did the bodies (sans tails)
finally got some foil but then decided to just leave it as is so i could show the contrast of the body to the non sunfaded head :)
german starshine has been in the window for about 3 weeks
argie twilight about 1.5 weeks
theyre not done yet but i could wait any longer to start on the heads LOL!
so here they are!!

that is awesome! I have a couple G1s that need some fading... is that just blue painters tape you used to cover the symbols? And just wrap the hair in foil? Do you cover the eyes too? I have never done it so I'd love to hear the tricks of the trade....

They are going to be so beautiful! Good job :)

yup! you got it!! i like painters tape cause it wont take off the paint PLUS you can kinda see where the symbols are underneath to trim around them

i also surround the ponies in mirrors to speed it up a bit ;)

im thinkin i may put my gusty up there too. i thought she was already pretty white but she would be AWESOME after a couple weeks in the sun!
 
also wanted to add that a member over at the arena, Calico_Star, puts hers in her car window!
i thought that was genius since you can always have them in the sun that way (since you can move the car ) and theres not as much roof blocking the sun!
i think i may just have to try that :tongue:

Wow, that's some good fading. You can really see the difference with the head still dark like that. Nifty!
 
Wow...they look great! I have a few that could use some sun fading, but I am so nervous to do it.
 
wow that's awesome. I've got florida summer sun, but all that really means is slight chance of rain.
