Hello I have recently developed an obsession for the G1 plushes! I pulled out my tote of stuffed ponies and have discovered that most of them are looking pretty dingy and my poor cotton candy has some stains on her. How do I clean these gals? I've never tried anything on a plush before but I'm pretty sure throwing them in the washing machine would ba a bad idea:idea:

Does anyone have any tips on cleaning them up such as what products to use and if anything in particular will stain the material? Also a few of them have ratty hair and I'm wondering if flat ironing it will work, their hair seeme to be made of different material than the plastic ponies?

Any help would be appreciated as I set out with my new project.

Thanks!

I threw my dingy Starshine in the washing machine inside of a pillowcase. She turned out really well, but some of her symbol was missing afterwards. It could have been gone before the washer, but I am not positive on that. (Guess I should have paid more attention to detail) Her hair had been braided for years so it was really wavy. I used a curling iron with conditioner in the hair and it worked very well. It took several passes to get it straight, but it worked without harming the hair. Good luck!

I throw mine in the washer.
Does the trick every time. Just make sure they
are wrapped in something so there eyes don't get scratched.

Thanks for the info everyone. I think I'm going to take your advice and try the washing machine.

I'll let you know how they turn out:)
