Hello all! I have recently moved into a much smaller living space and lost a lot of storage, so sadly I feel it’s time to part ways with my collection. What’s the procedure for big bulk price checks? And in your opinion is it better to sell a collection like this as lots or individually?

Price Check #1: 25th Birthday Celebration Collector Set - Opened, Ponies never removed from box. Ponies in near perfect condition with no visible marks but the box is not in good condition.

Price Check #2: I have 100 ponies with fairly good photos separated into color lots. Hoping for thoughts on pricing and whether I should let them go up as a lot or try individual sales.

Shipping Question: I have not seen a specific topic for discussion of shipping. Is there a standard means of shipping that is well thought of? Are USPS flat rate boxes the best way to go?

Whew, I hope it's okay to plop all these into one post! If not I am happy to break up the questions :satisfied:

Sadly, I can’t really help with exact price checks or shipping, but if I’m correct, most of the common G3s would go for about 3-5$ a piece. I would say group all commons as a lot and sell that way? And HTFs/Sought afters, like Snowflake/seasonal ponies and Thistle Whistle (I’m assuming she’s her first release?), for example, are better off separately. Hope this helps! :satisfied:

Also, that 25th anni set is to die for <3 I have them, but without their box. They’re so beautiful~

I imaging if you do sell them as lots flat-rate would definitely be the cheaper way to go but check out the USPS website to check the price for size and weight of the package to be sure you're getting the best price.

I haven't seen this set available in a while, my best ballpark estimate is $50-60.

Unfortunately G3 ponies aren't selling for more than a few dollars each lately, I would try to sell them as a lot. There aren't any especially rare ones that I saw upon first glance.

Shipping Question:
I have not seen a specific topic for discussion of shipping. Is there a standard means of shipping that is well thought of? Are USPS flat rate boxes the best way to go?

The only reason you'd want to use flat rate boxes is if the package is very heavy. USPS pricing is primarily on weight, and flat rate boxes are usually up to 70lbs. The other case is if you're mailing something clear across the country--if I ship something from here (Maryland) to California, it may save me money to use flat rate shipping.

But, say I'm sending something only halfway across the country. It might cost $8 via Priority mail, but the closest flat rate box (medium) is about $15. Buyers will not buy from you if they know you could ship to them for less, but are choosing not to. Likewise, they will appreciate a case where the flat rate will save them money.

Bottom line: Weigh and measure your packages and look up all of your options on USPS.com. They have a handy tool just for that: https://postcalc.usps.com/ ;)

Thank you everyone for your thoughtful responses! I appreciate the time especially put into detailed replies. In the end I believe I've found somewhere locally that would take them in as a donation, which in my particular situation is preferred. I may still hang about the forums tho, since you all seem like such nice folks
