I received my box of Wave 8 blind bags that I had preordered. The bags have changed so there is no middle flap with the codes anymore, but there does seem to be a pattern to the imprint on the bottom of the bags. The bags were in order from AA to AZ (skipping J and Q) and those letters corresponded to the numbers on the cards:

A = 01 Applejack
B = 02 Big Macintosh
C = 03 Royal Riff
D = 04 Mosely Orange
E = 05 Gilda
F = 06 Flam
G = 07 Flim Skim
H = 08 Fluttershy
I = 09 Skywishes
K = 10 Granny Smith
L = 11 Princess Cadence
M = 12 Golden Harvest
N = 13 Flower Wishes
O = 14 Pinkie Pie
P = 15 Sassaflash
R = 16 Comet Tail
S = 17 Rainbow Dash
T = 18 Sunny Rays
U = 19 Gardinia Glow
V = 20 Lemon Hearts
W = 21 Rarity
X = 22 Ribbon Wishes
Y = 23 Lotus Blossom
Z = 24 Twilight Sparkle

The letters apear more than once on the bottom. Here are a couple of pictures to show what I'm referring to (this is Big Mac's bag so AB). Hopefully, this is true for all the boxes so it will still be possible to track down an individual pony in the stores.

For those wondering about the differences between the Wave 7 mane six and these, here are some pics with Wave 7 on the left and Wave 8 on the right.

For Rarity and Fluttershy, the main difference is that the new wave has much brighter hair. Wave 8 Fluttershy might be just a half shade darker and her eyes are a bit different in shape as well.

Twilight's hair is also brighter, but the Wave 7 version has a redder tone to the body color.

Rainbow Dash is much darker and has hot pink instead of red in her hair - the rest of the colors are brighter as well.

Pinkie Pie is a very bright hot pink.

Wave 8 Applejack is a neon orange that my camera hated. I tried my best to get a good comparison shot, but I'm not sure how well it came across - the difference is extremely noticeable in person.

I hope this helps once they start appearing in stores. :smilepony:

They definitely fit the "neon" description. They're really gorgeous, I'll probably go out and pick them all up!

The new codes are definitely interesting. Still makes me wonder why they chose to contain codes on the bags on the first place, because it really does ruin the "blind" aspect of them.

Yes, but thank goodness they do! It has saved me a lot of money being able to buy selectively.

Thanks for this thread Breyer600. This info and the excellent explanation are incredibly helpful. :)

Found these at FYE today, i wish i could have had this list then, but i was rushed for time. Fortunately, i bought 3 bags with no repeats, and have uploaded this list to my phone, thanks! Also, i might have to buy a blacklight for my pony shelf...

Oooh! I have a "loose" black light... Will have to see how these look under it! Never thought about trying that on these. Thanks for the idea :tongue:

Thanks for these comparison images, breyer600. The AJs are showing up looking very differerent on my iPad, so your camera did its job.

So they're all A something? Like AA is Applejack, AB is Big Macintosh etc.? I haven't seen these around yet, they're still selling the wave 6 and 7's here...

Well, that's a useful comparison.
However, I don't think I'm going to buy any from this wave. Neon isn't really my thing.

Wow! So what's the deal with buying an entire box? Does it come with all of the figures, or just random picks?

Each box has one of each so by buying the whole box you get the complete set all at once. This is the first time I've done it, but I had such a hard time tracking down some of the other waves it was worth it. It works out to be a pretty reasonable price too if you want all or most of the ponies in the wave.

Does anyone know where to find these specific type ponies? I think they are called Rainbowfied. If they come in Blind Bags does anyone have the codes for them?

Welcome to the Post, Twinklefairy!

DJ-Pon isn't in the Wave 9 blind bag set but rather the Rainbow Power Pony Collection featuring Fluttershy, Dr Whooves, Princess Twilight, DJ-Pon and Applejack. They can be found at Target and Toys R Us.

The Fluttershy is from the Soaring Pegasus Set. I've yet to see one in my travels, but it's one I want vera, vera much!
