Well fiddlesticks.

Take care of yourself! I immediately notice when I'm dehydrated because I get migraines and lightheaded and stuff. It's easy to forget to hydrate though.

Thanks, Marble Dragon! It's funny, this really snuck up on me. Being out in the Texas heat everyday, I try to watch myself, but I've had heat exhaustion twice in the past so I'm more susceptible. I didn't notice anything, and apparently it's been going on forever. Who knew? Not this dumb bunny!

Went to the doctor today only to have him tell me he couldn't make heads nor tails of my MRI. The one good thing though, there appears to be no mass like a tumour. Just an odd, dead looking patch. He thinks I've had a stroke maybe. It appears my brain isn't getting enough oxygen (which explains so much of my forgetfulness and confusion). But I'll know more tomorrow after I see a neurologist. I could either rush to an appointment Friday or sweat it out waiting till October. I choose running. I'll have to go way past Dallas, so it's almost three hours, but I'd have to travel an hour to see anyone 'local' and the lists are looooooong.

So. Maybe Friday! It's like a guessing game that never ends!

One thing, I'm liking my doctor of a decade plus more and more. Some docs would bluster through, but my guy is willing to say, "I don't know, let's ask for some help." His helpfulness and humble attitude are so rare in a doctor. I love him more than ever.

Thanks for the update. Maybe the dark patch is just mediclorians and you are force sensitive. Maybe that's why you have confusion. You are sensing the force!
I would have taken the rushed appointment as well. Glad you like your doctor. I am uber-suspicious of doctors, so it is a wonderful thing to find one you trust.
Well take care, you have an awesome attitude! Let us know how it goes.

That is wonderful news , hugs and thinking of your for your appointment, thats great you don't have to wait long.

Good luck with the doc appointment! Crossing my hooves for you!

You know, I've been debating what I'm going to nickname you, and I think I've settled on bunbun. :) I was protecting a nest of baby rabbits from a neighbor's dog last week, and I randomly started referring to them as the "baby bunbuns." :p

So hang in there, bunbun! Myself and many others here know the rigors of being in and out of hospitals, diagnosed and undiagnosed with equal frustration, and how long the years can feel when you're just wanting to feel better.

Like others have said, your humor and fighting spirit are going to take you a long way though :) So many things you say here really make me laugh, and that's something we all appreciate about you very much! I wish you all the best for finding your answers soon.

I'm glad it's not a tumor and it was smart to take the fast appt. will continue to wish for the best for you foofoo.

Love it! I will gladly be a bunbun. Sounds cute enough to lure in the innocent then BAM! Bop them on the head. ;)

So I have been to the doctor and now have my answers. Foremost I'm not going to croak off anytime soon due to this discovery, so I'm very hip on this. I like living. Living is my thing.

What I have are a number of small, dead areas on my brain (what were referred to as 'white matter abnormalities' on my MRI), caused by (of all things) migraines! Apparently some severe migraines will actually kill little portions of your brains on the occasion, but according to my neurologist, having no lasting side effects to the person who suffers them. I was quite surprised with the information, as I've been a longtime migraine sufferer and had never been aware of this. I knew it upped my chances for stroke (and he did suggest it appears that I have had perhaps a very small stroke from the look of it, but again, I suffered no real damage from it), but the idea that a headache (albeit a horrific one) can actually kill off healthy cells was surprising. All I can do is medicate as quickly as possible when a migraine comes on, in hopes of catching it early enough to avoid damage. Not all migraines cause damage, so I don't need to be in fear every time I have one.

Needless to say, I will be doing tonnes of research on this now. My curiosity is peaked!

I will have to continue to rest as the neurologist concurs with something my doctor said, I appear to be suffering from long term exhaustion. As someone who has been caring for an ill loved one for years and years, this isn't surprising. My mom has decided to stay permanently at her nursing home, for both my own health ad hers. This is going to be an adjustment, but one I think we can both deal with. She's been there or at the hospital more often than not lately, so we've already started getting used to it. I'm also going to have to give my body time to heal from long term dehydration, another folly of my not caring for myself. I'll just have to keep a bottle o' water in hand and adjust having to pee constantly. LOL!

I want to give you all my sincere thanks. When I first posted this, I admit I was frightened. I'm typically not a chicken heart, but because I felt so bad when I was given the info, I just leapt to the worst thoughts. You all helped assuage my fears in the kindest ways and I will always be grateful for you kindness. This has got to be, paws down, the friendly, most upstanding group of people I ever met since my early days on the internet back when it was all cavemen posting on rocks.

You may all proceed to make as many brain-dead jokes at my expense as you care to dish out. I'm prepared! Heck. I even earned them. :lolpony:

I love you all!

Aww bunbun, what a trooper you are! Glad to hear it's better than expected! Now give yourself some TLC and get some good rest!

So glad to hear it's good news! Or at least not the bad news you were dreading. I wish they could do test results faster, in general.. it's the waiting that gets you! *Hugs*

I'm just gonna leave this here.... :)

I had no idea that was possible! I guess it makes sense though.. fortunately my migraines have mostly stopped since having my gallbladder out last summer. It's still a bit of a scary thought though. :/

What wonderful news, at least now you can manage the migranes and know exactly what is happening.
What a fantastic relief for you. :)

Knowing is half the battle!

Got the disc of my MRI and was fiddling around looking at my brain, which is pretty neat-o, but not $650 worth of neat-o (and I understand I got off cheap, so I shouldn't complain). Still, I found this, and screen capped it. EVEN MY BRAIN IS EVIL.

Look...

It's looking at you alllllllll angry.

One weird thing though, the date is wrong on the MRI but right on the paperwork. I guess it doesn't matter as long as I get to live. Live with mah EVIL BRAIN.

:eek::eek::eek:

Oh gosh, that's awful to hear D: I am so sorry you are going through this! I hope the results are positive for you!

I had an issue a couple years ago that involved having possible breast cancer. Thankfully, it wasn't something too serious...
