So, I don’t know if it’s the time of year (post (gray cold and snowy eewwww). Or if it’s just because one working six day work weeks with 12 hour shifts.

But I have been feeling like a giant blob of nothingness lately. Like, I get up, go to work, come home eat and bed. And that is basically my week. Then on my day off I do “adult” things like laundry and clean. Then I’m off again to do the work stuff. It’s just been this cycle all month.

In the last week a couple of my friends have asked what we’re doing for my birthday this year. I was joking when I responded “sleeping” but now that my birthday is 4 days away - that’s kind of exactly what I want. But I feel horrible for feeling that way. Usually my birthday is the only time my friends and I really get together and go out (and get a little silly with the Toronto night life).... so it’s a time that my friends look forward to. This year I’m just not feeling it at all. Maybe it’s because of my age, maybe because I’ve been a lot more self conscious this year but I just want to be a hermit... maybe with Clover to snuggle.

Its your birthday and you'll snooze if you want too. You don't hafta do anything wild or active. Maybe even just inviting a few friends/loved ones over and ordering in or snuggling and playing with your precious pooch. Whatever makes you happy or feel better is all that counts.

Sounds like the best Birthday ever to me! I eventually outgrew going out, I can still dance the night away when I want to but for the most part taking the day to do nothing seems like the greatest indulgence ever! I think when you get older you're so busy doing adult things that you really just look forward to not doing anything and see more value in that than going out. Occasionally you should still get together with friends cause you don't want to loose those relationships but this is YOUR birthday so you should do what you want. Save going out with them for one of their birthdays, cause it's what they want to do. If you want to stay home and chill, you should and they might give you a little hard time cause they're your friends and that's their job but they should ultimately respect your wishes and understand. I found I really have to say no to going out when I don't want to and not let people make me feel guilty about it cause then I don't enjoy it. When I stopped doing that and just started going out when I really wanted to I actually found myself looking forward to those times more and having more fun than just going cause I felt I should and not really looking forward to it. I had to let my friends know it was nothing personal but I just felt like I was doing too much and I would be more fun in smaller doses :p

Do whatever you feel like doing. I generally like to go hiking and be completely away from people on my birthday. I never celebrate it and my friends often forget about it as well. If you feel like staying in, do it. The older you get the less you care about other people's expectations.

In other news, I sent you a package, which may or may not reach you. Canada post raised their rates to absurd. I tried to send you something small (actually, in the same bubble mailer you sent me the pins in) and they wanted nearly $17 to ship. WTF. The package is less than 100g and it's tiny. I refused to pay, because that is nonsense, so I stuck a few stamps on it and put in the mailbox. If they don't send it back to me, you'll probably get it next week.

....12 hours a day 6 days a week?

Do you have time to breath?

Do they need to build you a bunker at your job as they consume what's left of your life and brand you as official company property?

Jeez whizz!!!!

Ah ha!! I’ve been giving up a lot of things lately in favour of sleep... it’s a little embarrassing to be honest. But my body apparently needs what ever sleep I can get.

I can’t stop thinking about Netflix and a Pizza Hut stuffed crust pizza. Much to my friends dismay but also delight if we do it at their place.

Girl. You didn’t need to send anything my way. But now I shall have my mother stalking the mail box while I slave at work daily. But yes. Canada post basically wants our souls for any postage anywhere these days. I actually find getting shipping rates and such online easier and more cost effective these days.

Ya. I sometimes wish I could set up a cot or snuggly bed under my desk for a snooze. It’s a lot of time at work but it’s literally for two months then it slows right down. So we can deal with it for two months. This is our “busy season” so no one is allowed to request time off and everyone has to do over time. But the extra earnings and commission kinda make it worth it in the end. It will hopefully pay for me to get out to my cousin’s wedding in England in the summer, so my stress and lack of a life outside of work will hopefully pay off.

Oooh! Put that way, only 2 months isn't that bad. It'll go by fast I'm sure

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKYBREEZE!!! Also, Pizza Hut stuffed crust is my favourite food. I can't eat pizza often, because I gain weight too fast, but I have to get a stuffed crust at least once a year.
