So i had a bad experince with a very defective 2021 gingerbread from amazon (She had Pony cancer, had a mark on her leg and one of the hair plugs came entirely) and i ordered a posey through them the other day because is the only way i can get them in my country, and i'm a little worried of how she's going to come. What are you guys experiences with the Retro Ponies? Did they have defects too? Any one counts

For the most part my experience has been great and I've been very happy with them, but there were certain ponies that were very prone to head/body mismatch that were fine when I bought them, but then they later began discoloring...Gusty, Starshine, and Firefly come to mind. I have several of Posey because she's one of my most favorite ponies and all of them looked fine to me last I checked. I do agree the hair is not as good as the originals though.

Overall a positive experience with the retro reproduction of Basic Fun G1 ponies. They did such a good job on all their pony collection choices, just wished they didn't make the Twinkle Eyed Collection and the 2nd Unicorn and Pegasus Set a 4 pony set. When there were originally 6 ponies in the set back in the 80's. It just makes it look like an incomplete set. I would love to see more new original ponies from Basic Fun, like they did with the celestial ponies for last year's 40th anniversary.

For the most part they're of excellent quality. My only gripe was that the scented oils on the Rainbow ponies are causing a tinge of yellowing.

I like the ones that are coming out now, especially the celestial. They seem great quality. I didn't much like the original anniversary ones with their hard plastic bodies and thin hair.

I just got a Windy like this from Aliexpress, I think it smells too strong, and with yellowing being a factor, is it possible to purify the plastic?

I love them! I never saw the TEs in my neck of the woods, but I love how vibrant they are and how sparkly their eyes are, not to mention how gorgeous the celestials are!
I know an issue with some of them was the differences on some of them, like Sparkler having two-tone hair and some of the Collector Ponies being different, much brighter shades than the originals for example, but personally I like that they’re still rather different so its easier to tell them apart.

I always wondered why Basic Fun made 2 different versions of Sparkler? The classic version, and the ombre version with red streak added into the tail. Instead of releasing Powder and Skyflier into the 2nd set they leave them out, I wish they didn't do that. Powder and Skyflier can easily be bought off of ebay for cheap prices.

True... And it would be so great if they re-released the Tales ponies! Though I'm slowly collecting the old stupidly expensive ones, too (insert comic book style swearing here ;)), only two more to go! But still, conceptually - I'm sure Hasbro wouls profit if they put up My Little Pony Tales on some current streaming service and then started selling the toys.

The ones I've got have been great :)

My hot take is Sparkler looks better with the two toned mane and tail instead of the traditional red stripe.

There are two versions of the Rainbow ponies: scented and unscented. They were initially scented because Toys R Us specifically asked for that feature, but when collectors complained about yellowing BF switched to unscented. You can't "unscented" a scented Rainbow pony as far as I know.

I noticed my Gusty's white color, isn't white anymore... Noticeable as time goes by... turns yellowish
Mine has head/body mismatch. :/
