What else do I have to sell

Just a note, this is not referring to anyone I've had transactions with on this forum. This forum has been nothing but nice.

I'm selling ponies that I planned never to part with. I'm selling all my common ones, I'm selling well below any other, I'm selling e.g., my furniture, and even rugs. I can only turn the heat down so much as I don't want to freeze my daughter. I'm trying to sell her collections. Apparently original Holt hyde in excellent condition is only worth $8 at most now. I call bull poops. 67 mh dolls, all but 3 in nm condition, some vhtf and all I'm asking is $800 shipped inside the U.S. I think I lowered it even more. Shipping alone is about $50. the dolls are barely averaging $10 each and apparently that's exorbitant. Exorbitant. That's the word someone on fb used. Holt hyde, Jackson Jekyll, gil Webber, Finnegan wake, porter geiss, clawd, 3 different deuce, slow-more, invisibilly, headmistress and nightmare, all the fierce rockers, and lots more. Are they really only worth $5 each $8 at most? All I have left is me. I really can't sell me. Even if someone wanted to pay, I just can't do it. What else can I sell? Already sold my sewing machine and my arm is barely functional on a good day. I can't write, much less crochet and the yarn costs more than anyone is willing to pay. Everyone seems to expect something for nothing and to grind me farther into the dirt in the process since I pay all packaging and handling costs as well as PayPal fees. Then I get chewed out over international shipping costs.

We're going under. 3 steps forward, 2 backward.

Sorry in advance this is a novel. I talk too much. Hugs to you as I am sorry things are so frustrating.

This is simply not true about Holt Hyde.

If you look at all the prices for wave 1 Hyde you will discover the prices are crazy all over the place. Take an average of all you can find and start your price for him there maybe. The reason his prices are all over is that he is not hard to find. He is not super rare. If I wanted one I could find one fairly easily. He is selling well though as evident by looking at ebay auctions.

If he comes with hardly anything and no box then yea maybe 4-8. Sometimes if you sell everything in one lot though you may narrow your market. Many buyers can't afford an entire lot as there are just some dolls they want. Have you done an average pricing on your dolls from what they have sold for on ebay? Have you considered selling them individually rather than a lot? I know this is hard work. People are Christmas shopping now and they probably won't spend that much. It is a guess. However they will spend for a doll individually. Facebook is a place where you will get snarky opinions from people who really want what you have and resent your pricing or are just bold personalities and try to manipulate sellers. Ya just have to ignore them. I have been through all of this. I have been cussed out for prices I have set on lots of vintage dolls on ebay. My small lots sold for the value I had set, but the jealous person that wanted it or sold theirs for lower feels it necessary to contact me and cuss me out about my pricing. It still sold. Have you thought of making smaller lots of dolls if you just have to sell in lots? You are going to probably get a lot of unwanted opinions posting items for sale on facebook. It is a social media site with a lot of silly teens and people with an attitude. I know you are in pain and that makes it really a laborious task to sell each doll individually. I also know you can't ebay either, but ebay/MH Collector forums is where the money is for Monster High. JmO Have you considered asking someone in your area to help you sell them on ebay? Or like here in Houston, we have toy sales booths that pop up in parking lots this time of year. All of the people who have toys to sell can have a free space in the parking lot to sell their loot. These pop up everywhere and are a wonderful way to get rid of toys. It does require a bit of work though preparing your items for sale. Dolls and toys that are mass produced have problems on the secondary market. Especially these new things that are only 10 years old. We all want our stuff to sell high, but sadly a lot of us sellers are at the mercy of the buyer as they set the price standard for much of what is for sale on the secondary market. If someone is willing to pay say 85.00 for a MH doll then that doll will stay at that value for as long as that is going on. Once people start paying less the value goes down. The key to selling I have found is knowing the market, selling where the money is and being patient. Rarely can you get all the money at once. You can sell your entire collection, but it will take some time. While many of us can't afford to wait the time, unfortunately it may take the time anyway. I have sold items for over 20 years and I have learned this. I see the same ponies for sale on ebay. I watch sellers resist lowering the price. Eventually they lower it by 5.00 then maybe 10.00. Eventually people will snag it, but everyone has in mind what they feel something is worth. I have been watching an Argentina pony I would like to have that I feel is overpriced. She isn't selling it and hasn't the entire summer up until now. It still isn't selling. This is what happens. These are hard times for everyone and the buyers do not all have deep pockets. We all want to get items, but we have bills to pay and all sorts of things going on in our lives just like our sellers do. The 2000 boom on ebay for sales has ended. Selling now takes time for many things. I feel your pain because, I know you just need your money. I believe there are always hidden reasons things don't work out the way we had planned too. So hang in there. I know you probably know all of this so it isn't altogether helpful I guess.

Sometimes I sell my ponies in a lot because I don't feel well and can't do them individually. The sheer magnitude of shipping them all would be crazy for my mind and my physical self. I sell them in smaller lots of like 15 and I am willing to take my losses doing it that way. Especially if I have a target amount of money I am wanting to buy a pony I can't normally afford. So, as long as I make enough to cover the pony I can't afford to buy outright, I will take a loss on my lot. But if I need money to buy something expensive or pay a bill, I have to sell in a way that I get the most I can for my items.

Thanks @tulagirl I did give all the dolls individual prices as well as small lot prices for the sets. All the dolls come with all accessories, extra clothes, diaries, and stands. Just no pets. Some that didn't come with stands I added stands to. I tried to research and keep my prices low the boys are generally more sought after so $30 for most, almost all the other dolls are under $25 with a large number under ten.

We've never had stalls pop up in parking lots here. You have to have the land owner's permit and this time of year we get one sunny day in 13 days of rain. We have a ton of resale stores, but they give you even less. The trouble with them and eBay is the fees. A store has to make enough for space rent, employees, electric, etc, eBay charges a percentage and I don't have time to sit and wait six months. I've been realistic with my prices. G3's $1 each. G1's $4 each. Dolls I'm aiming for an average of $10 each, but most dolls are priced below that the, harder to find at a decent price, ones are a little more. Sometimes, if I know they're going to a child I charge the bare minimum. I still can't control shipping. This time of year more stuff is likely to get lost. People act as though I'm overcharging for shipping. That's happened twice and both times I immediately refunded the difference in shipping which was less than $10 both times and earlier in the year when the post office was going through lots of changes. If I accidentally misquote a price that's lower than actual shipping I eat the cost. I just wish more people would be honest and that I had more time. I've been lucky in the pony community that the only issue is shipping and I understand not wanting to pay $22.50 to ship a $4 pony. Maybe the dolls will go eventually.

Boy that is really high shipping. Is that for international? I think people are quite unreasonable when it comes to shipping prices. I have no idea why they can't see the reality of what things cost to ship. If I ship a small something even in a mailer it almost always costs 20.00 to go to the UK. Sometimes I get lucky and its only like 12.00 but that is a super tiny item. I never buy from the Netherlands anymore because I always get these 25.00 quotes for pony shipping. That is just way too much. I know that is the real cost, but on top of the pony I can't afford it. So, yea that is a lot. The problem is that in the US they have now started treating mailers as box rate if they have something more than 1/4th thickness. This drives the price up when it use to be so much less. All the money in the world you can save doesn't help if you are the seller and the item gets lost. Yikes the anxiety sending items to people outside the USA is too much for me unless they are friends.

If you think the pets would help I have some of the original pets to the first wave of MH dolls you can have to add to the pile for free.

You're so sweet! It'll be ok. I'm just selling more ponies and e.g. the eah are going on eBay. Thank you for offering.
